I’ve been looking at this scope for a while over other budget units for the picture in picture feature. The price fits the amount of time I would actually get to use it. It would be for known distance hogs in the woods out to about 250y ideally, mostly shorter than that.

Anybody using it? Apparently the 2019 model is now black/white instead of the green display of the years past.

The problem with this unit is the fixed focus at 50yds means things get fuzzy pretty quickly over 100yds. Same issue as the similar FLIR unit. The ATN/Chinese units have reliability/function issues. The first thermal scopes that are recommended for hunting are the Pulsar Apex line, now discontinued, but still available used. Or the Armasight Predators.
I have a line on a used Apex 50mm, let me know if interested.

I bought one when they first came out after assuming they would be like the Apex line. The fixed focus kills them. For inside 100 yds they are good. After that, good luck. Save a little more money and get something you can focus for different distances. I have hunted with guys with the old Apex units and even though some of the specs are better on the CORE the fixed focus ruins it past 100 yds.

I have had a Pulsar XQ and now a Triji. I got a Pulsar RXQ in my gun room but that resolution is just not what i'm used to now. The downside to the new ones is that they are black/white vs the green screen. The green screen is a whole lot easier on the eyes.
