Just wondering if anyone has put that light of a barrel on an A3 stock and it it looked dumb. I'm building a lightweight hunting type rifle, and really like the A3's. I've got a couple, but don't want it to look to funny or be awkward as far as carrying, etc...

Man that's my deal. I was going to just go with a varmit barrel at 20-22", but decided to go longer, maybe finish at 25", and a lighter contour. It doesn't have to be 6-7lbs, just less than 10 really.

Want it to be versitile, etc. An A1-3 would be my choice, but can't find one...

I just finished a 284 in a A-3 sporter, mold in forest camo. I used a #5 brux on it. If you want to see what that looks like let me know and I will post up a pic.

A #3 is Classic or Sako Hunter territory.

Conversation.

Fluted #4 in an A5 inletted for an MTU blank, which will take nearly the same max contour as an A3(1.350" vs. 1.450").

As compared to a Classic and Sako Hunter.

Less is more.

Thanks for the info guys! I'm thinking about ordering one of the Game Scouts, or going A3, to many damn choices...

I'm loving the Game Scout. Works really well with a sporter barrel - I like it enough that I have a second one on the way. I just have to keep fighting the urge to get them modified with an adjustable cheek piece... Triad stock pack does a great job there.
