I live close to one of Palmetto State Armory's outlet stores and ran across a nice mid length ar15 of theirs at a pretty good price so I decided to try one out.
Is anyone else here shooting one and what are your opinions?

Great rifle at a good price point. I like the hammer forged, double chomed lined, FN barrels they offer in their rifle kits. Building a very solid AR for $700 is a great deal.

Make sure it has the right gas tube.

PSA sent out a mid-length rifle with a carbine-length gas tube - it was quite the hubbub on Arfcom. After all the chest thumping about their test firing and QC, the gas tube incident destroyed their credibility with me.

I'm building my first AR with a Palmetto State lower. It should be here Tuesday, and all the pieces and parts should arrive before the weekend.

I will let you know how it goes.

This is my first AR ever and I can't wait!

probably one knucklehead had a rough night partying and wasn't paying attention to his work.. That's all it takes though is one man screwing up to ruin a decent company..
I paid 600 for mine and it was nicely equipped but I did a lot to it afterward.

Re: Anyone have a Palmetto State rifle?

I put together one of their lowers as well as an upper and am very please with the quality of both. For the price I don't think you can do much better.

as far as I can tell with the upgrades I have done, daniel defence foregrip/barrel float & adjustable lo/pro gas block, magpul PRS stock, timney drop in trigger, harris bipod.. It is a very sweet rifle and a dream to shoot, very smooth and very accurate..
