Anyone have any first hand knowledge of these guys

I saw them highly regarded on another shooting forum for their VLD's that were originally designed by Jimmie Knox and then sold to Swampworks. 1 or 2 decent reviews there and the ability for me to order 40 of a couple different styles for .308 diameter sold me on trying them out.

Does anyone here have any user experience with them?

I picked up 175gr VLD and 180grn VLD with the Long Boat Tail config. Took a little hit on shipping since it's in a flat rate box (11 bucks) but it's still cheaper than ordering 100 Berger's to try out. The owner claims he uses Berger jacket blanks as a starting point.

I shoot their 80 VLD 224's and they shoot very well in a 22 x 47 Lapua. I have no complaints.

Thanks, that's good to hear. He said he's doing the next production run of 30 cals in May and needs to order jackets in March. If these few he sent me shoot well I'm apt to order another 500 or 1000. I just don't know if I'm getting something that's already been "downselected" since he said he's out of bulk but he can send some for evaluation.

I'm optimistic about them, especially since they're 75% the cost of Bergers.

Thanks. The samples showed up yesterday and hot damn they look nice.

I'm going to load some and shoot'em this weekend. I'll be ordering 1k of whichever happens to work nicer. I'm going to round up my friends and see if any of them are interested in a group buy.

I have shot the 140g JLK's in 6.5mm and I have been very satisfied with them. I think they will shoot well for you.

+1 for JLK. I called them today after reading this post. I wanted to buy a box of .284 180gr VLDs. Steve told me that he was fixin to make a run of em, but he's shipping me 20 of em to try out before I buy any. Good deal.

He also says that if your'e gonna want the above bullets to get in orders by 3-15-09. FYI

Thanks, when I talked to him he told me mid march, so I'll be ordering some stuff from him I think.

He sent me 40 of the 175 VLD and 180 VLD Long BT to try in my 30-06 before ordering, he even pulled the 180's from his personal stock. Seems like a pretty stand up guy, it's hard to find customer service like that nowadays.

ive used the 175 vld in my 700 308 and didnt see anything special.
