Anyone have experience with geissele R700 trigger?

Hopefully I can pick one of these up for a deal! I’m in need of a good two stage, timney 510 works but prefer to marry my finger to the trigger and really enjoyed my service rifle that had a Geissele 2 stage.

I have one on my fieldcraft. It has been fantastic, even at the factory settings. I never felt the need to adjust mine. Good two stage feel, light and crisp. It's not as 'candy cane' on the second stage as a SSA-E, but it's still a very nice break.

I'm about 1k rounds in on my Geissele Super 700 trigger so far, 700 of those were on a prairie dog hunt this year. Overall I am very pleased with it and find it to be a good 2-stage trigger. I did tweak the preset weights downward a little from factory. Feel wise it is similar to the SSA-E triggers I run in my AR's.

It is not, what to me is the Holy Grail of 2-stage triggers, an Anschutz 5098. However, it is leaps and bounds better than the Timney Calvin Elite 2-stage I had.

I will likely be picking up a Trigger Tech version to T&E. Mainly because they will offer it in a flat trigger bow and it appears to be easier for user adjustability than the Geissele. Granted they are still vapor ware at the moment, but I have faith we will see then late 2019 to Q1 2020

I have one. I’ve tried mating it to an ultimatum deadline action, and while it functions correctly the safety lever sits so high it hits the bolt handle when cycling the action with the trigger in the fire position. I imagine you’d run into this issue on any 60° throw action.

I think I’m going to try just trimming the back part of the safety knob at 45°, or cutting the lever shorter and then drilling and threading an appropriately sized thumb screw in its place. I’ve contacted geissele about the matter, But they don’t have any plans for a shorter safety at this point and couldn’t tell be where I could find the safety knob to be able to drill and tap a lower one.

Otherwise it adjusts easy, and feels really nice. I like that you can adjust the 2nd stage weight just by taking the bolt out, vs my Calvin elite 2 stage adjustments requiring chassis removal.

Compared to the Calvin I like the geissele 1st stage better. The break feels about the same to me, but I don’t have any rounds to wear in the geissele yet. I picked it up on sale for $200, and besides the safety issue I’d buy again.

What was your issue with the Calvin elite...just curious? Thanks
I had a hangfire on a brand new CE two stage on a brand new action the first week I installed it. Sent it back, they said they fixed it but now on two different actions, it fails to drop the firing pin. Still working with timney to replace it completely

I competed in a two day rifle match at GTI this past weekend without any issues. We had a lot of caged ladders to climb with some on the clock, so the rifle as some new scars! The trigger was never an issue. I only have a 1,000 rounds on the rifle/trigger but it's been through dirt, rain, mud, etc without skipping a beat.
