I am looking for a thermometer than I can put on the wall behind the tank and look up at to see. I tried a wireless type but it wasn't accurate. I would like to find one with a long probe that I can lay in the bottom of the tank and mount the gauge on the wall. I looked at brown ells but no luck ...

Dont know where your at...but this guy is local to me and did a fantastic job re hot bluing some smith revolvers for me. If you ask im sure he'd be happy to help.

You can also go through Auber Instruments for cheap 1/32DIN PID units and thermocouples that will handle forge welding temperatures and are extremely accurate. K type TC’s are pretty cheap and are durable, and can be had with ceramic sheaths to insulate the TC as well.

If you want to get wild, you can set one up with a ribbon burner setup through the PID with LP rated solenoids and input temp on the PID, the PID does the rest.

PID with a TC is one of the easiest and cheapest ways to get very accurate readings on temps. Less than $100 for a full setup including a box housing for the PID.

already checked brownelles. Couldn't find it there

thanks for the help. What I am looking for is a thermometer that has a remote gauge. The probe is about 6 feet long and the gauge mounts on the wall behind the tanks. I have the tank thermometers but you have to be right on top of the tank to read them and they always get fogged up or splashed on.
