Anyone received bad/no CS from Badger Ordnance?

Based on the overwhelming love Badger Ordnance gets here on SH I sent my Remington 700 bolt to Badger three weeks ago. I followed the PDF instructions to the letter. Tracking number says they got it Feb 16. They advertise turn around time of 5-7 days. I'm not unreasonable so I'm ok with them being busy and taking a few extra days but now I'm at almost triple their advertised time and they won't return my email. I've had trouble calling during their open hours. Advice?

Badger Bolt Knob Install PDF at the bottom.

Sometimes things fall through the cracks with even the best companies.

Hopefully someone here "in the know" can relay the message to who ever "needs to know".

Wow, thanks for the enlightened commentary.

Finally got a chance to call. Badger said the CNC machine used for this process was down for about a week and that they are finally caught up. I'm told it will be here by the end of the week (although my credit card hasn't been charged yet). Will update.

This very true, I had a Hide vendor take 3 months for a knob and when I finally received it, it was done wrong.

Why did you not send it to GAP for the bolt knob? They are across the street from each other and thats where it ends up for the work regardless...

I'm trying to stimulate the KCMO economy by spending the extra $3 to have them walk it across the street.

Mtneer, we have been having trouble with our new email server and some emails are having trouble getting through. Some changes were made server-wise around the beginning of last month, and there have been some tweeks that have had to be made periodically. We'll get it ironed, I assure you.

Feel free to email me at [email protected] if you'd like and I'll double check on your bolt. As mentioned above, while we strive for 100%, occasionally something inevitably does fall through the cracks.

In addition, I wanted to note that bolt knob installation is performed in house. We have always performed any labor services we offer, but obviously GAP is reliable option as well.

Any questions you have, feel free to shoot me an email or give me a call. Thanks.

Thanks Glenn. Per my conversation with one of your CS guys this morning I'm going to give it until the end of the week. If I don't have it by then I'll drop you an email.

I truly appreciate the feedback.

That is BS. Patience this man has shown. He waited until they were 3x longer than he was told on the return of his item. What should happen here is simple communication from a company on their own initiative that due to "x" your item will be delayed. Far too many companies give turnaround times and fail to keep the customer informed. What should happen is that either they don't give turnaround times and act like nothing happened when they go way past them or they keep up with their orders and communicate if a deadline will not be met. As said above though, even good companies have things fall through the cracks and Badger IS a good company but it is sure not an issue of the OP not having patience.

Re: Anyone received bad/no CS from Badger Ordnance?

How can you consider Badger a good company when they are taking three times as long as they advertise to complete his job? But really only 12 working days since they recieve it. Lot's o patience eh? This game requires a bit more than that.

If I were Badger, I'd pack his stuff up and mail it back and let him know that a phone call would have been more appropriate than a public outcry and he can take his business elsewhere. But that's just me and how I run my businesses.

Re: Anyone received bad/no CS from Badger Ordnance?

So Tunanut say you ordered a new Yellowfin 36 and were told it would be done in 3 months. Then at 9 months you posted a question on a boating website (not an outcry) about whether anyone else had ordered one and had issues with the quoted deadline after no response to Yellowfin's email that is listed in their contact us section. Would you consider that impatient?

When you take an order for something in your business do you inform your customer if you are going to go over the delivery date by even twice as long as quoted or do you expect them to get in touch with you to see what's going on? Do you expect them to just have more patience and figure something came up and it will be ready when it's ready?

Business is not a game its treating folks like you want to be treated. So as per your own hypothetical you would send his item back to him because that's how you run your business. Hypothetically that would come after you missed a deadline and didn't bother to communicate with him. Is that really how you operate?

Re: Anyone received bad/no CS from Badger Ordnance?

I had great CS from BO this week. They replaced FOR FREE a part I had lost because I am a non-organized idiot sometimes.

I will continue to patronize them just because they furnished me with what I am sure was only $2.00 worth of free parts & shipping at a time of need.

In fact I just ordered a new McMillan HTG and yep, it's getting a Badger M5 .223 DBM inlet.

That will be my next BO purchase.

Re: Anyone received bad/no CS from Badger Ordnance?

Just to be clear, I have nothing to do with Badger and do not own their products, but have use them and liked what I've seen.

Oh, I'd order the 42 with triples and know it was going to be a year to get it the way I want it with the electronics, motors , genset, riggers and hard top. Craftsmen should not be rushed, I'd prefer a good job to a fast job anyday. If a salesmen told me 3 months, I'd ask for his supervisor, he's obviously new. Futhermore, if Yellowfin would build me the boat I want and not charge me till it's done, I'd not complain one little bit.

Really GGmanning, do you think that 12 working days deserves a public outcry? Like I said, he'd be getting his stuff returned along with a unthankyouverymuch card. All you bitches that cry about a craftsmen taking longer than you'd hope should just do the job yourself and stop your whinning. He even admits that he's not been charged a dime yet.

Actually I've learned over time to over estimate the time of delivery on custom work and have happy customers. Maybe Badger should reevaluate their published time turnarounds for retail customers.

Re: Anyone received bad/no CS from Badger Ordnance?

Every email I have sent Badger has been answered by Marty himself within a day. I recently purchased an action from them and they shipped it the very next day. I am more than happy with the product and the CS they have given me.

Re: Anyone received bad/no CS from Badger Ordnance?

Let me make it clear I have had nothing but positive experiences with BO. I am merely taking up for the OP who I don't think was impatient or made anything close to a public outcry. Wylie meets completion dates....you stated the same of yourself tunanut, yet the OP is a villain in your eyes because he expected a item to be finished in 5-7 days as advertised and made a beinign inquiry on the internet? Of course the YF timeframe was just a representation and you know that but points given for a deft way to inject a little "look at me" in to your humble customer argument. Why should BO or anybody else reevaluate their advertised turnarounds? The very premise of your whole argument is that a customer should just be patient regardless of advertised turnaround times. Patience son, git some.

Re: Anyone received bad/no CS from Badger Ordnance?

The folks at Badger always have treated me fair

Things happen, sounds like they are doing what they can

Anytime I deal with a company focused on build the best they can for those who put themselfs in harms way, I dont mind waiting. I dont mind if they have to shut down my project to get thier MIL/LEO customers going first. There are folks out there that NEED thier gear not just wanting it. Give it a thought.....

Re: Anyone received bad/no CS from Badger Ordnance?

I agree with the above. (not badger another company)When I was getting my rifle built I was 3 months past the date promised. I called and they told me that they had three marines a head of me due to deployment dates that had to be rushed.

I told them no prob. They get priority everytime.

I can wait.

Re: Anyone received bad/no CS from Badger Ordnance?

I stopped by badger on Wednesday to pick up a set of rings for an AR, while a nice young man took my upper and scope in the back to mount the rings and scope Glen said to sit down and kick my feet up an he gave me a foot massage. They know how to treat their customers
