Anyone shooting the ol' CMP Mossberg 44US, or built one up?

No pics, but I got one for about $75 from the CMP about 10 years ago - stock looks like it was re-finished but the parkerizing is a real nice gray. Shoots great. I'd NEVER sell it.

Picked up a non-surplus rusty one at a pawn shop for $80 a few years ago, a -c model. Had mag and correct peep sights so I figured I could always part it out. Rusty and crusty and ugly, but shoots good.

The 44USc was not a military contract rifle. Just a standard civilian model made after the war. I collect military trainers and have a blued 44US in my collection. The Parkerized ones have been rebuilt by the military. Here is a pic of mine: The rifle on the right.

Mine is from the second lot sold. The first lot had Lyman sights. Some of the last lots were never issued and went through rebuilds after the war. I had two of these that I gave to my nephews. One from the 4th and the other from the 5th. Both parkerized versions. That was before I started collecting trainers. I now have over 50 trainers. :)
