This arrogant Ass never says a single good thing about other companies, his are always better, notice that? Ohh, Bartlien and Tooley couldn’t do their jobs right either but somehow Q can according to recent answers I saw on IG.
Curious how you were able to get the barrels to spec when you don’t do any in house manufacturing?
Parts assembly only, Correct?
Thank you for providing some background information. That is some of the no BS "Why our stuff is better" answers to some of my questions that I was looking for.

That or the older specwar 7.62. Those cans were damn near indestructible and in the top of the class for noise suppression.
No one. We won the SOCOM contract at AAC. Then Ethan made a better one at SIG. But, .mil hasn't really committed to a program for it, so there isn't a great one yet. The 1.5" units out there are not the solution.
Their's is Belt-fed Rated", but I doubt a 1.5" silencer will ever be the solution. It will require a larger volume silencer to be a adopted. Big volume will keep temps and back pressure down, so durability is increase.
Be "rated" for belt-fed, and being the best solution long term, I believe, are very different things.
I've pushed the Army to put silencers on the M249 and M240 for a very long time. They are slow to catch on.
A few small contracts? How many does Q hold? How many does Surefire hold?
Where is that FEA Data, Real world Destructive Rest Data, Sound Test Data, Grouping Data (which needs to now be done again with the Fix using the Green Mountain Barrels they now ship with I read just now)?
You really expect people to believe Dave Tooley and Bartlein had QC issues and couldn’t hold spec? Seriously? How did Q fix those barrels?

So I get the volume aspect for back pressure, but temperature? Other than the obvious of more volume = more surface area, wouldn’t materials be a bigger factor for temperature sensitivity? For example, Inconel is much better with heat stress than say titanium. Engineered ceramics are better than inconel. I’m surprised there hasn’t been any ceramics introduced to the suppressor market yet but maybe there is something obvious I’m missing.
Well, good point. Ceramics not great in this applications due to hoop and erosion. You are correct, Ti sucks for machine-gun applications, bc it loses strength at much lower temps than Inconel, etc. The volume is important for back pressure and bolt velocity, but also more volume equals less pressure, thus lower temperatures. Think about how much quicker something small heats up over something larger. Same for silencers.
You never constantly post your products are the best on the market ehh? Or post false shit about other people in the industry? Still won’t post test results others and I have asked for, you just say trust me? Trust a person like you? Not for a minute!

Umm, so Bartlein and Tooley both supposedly had irreconcilable quality control issues? Of all the hyperbole in this thread, I find that statement the hardest to believe. I sure would love to hear Frank Green or Dave Tooley chime in.

I was saving this post with what I had come across on IG just for those true hardcore believers of Kevin on here! I know who is on here & I know you all know the Quality & Reputation Of Dave Tooley and Bartlien Barrels. So I f Kevin is willing to talk shit about their QC & their ability to deliver on time & in spec, how do you think he truly talks about others inside the industry or anyone else who doesn’t buy his BS at face value and questions him!

Now I don’t know TBAC, CGS, or any of the others personally, but I have followed Kevin over the years & as I saw more & more of the kinds of things he does & says about others, I realized that what a close friend had been telling me for years told was true!
He is a Bible Salesman, he will even try & convince people he wrote the Bible!
I will give him credit for a few things, but not much!

I don’t think it would make sense. It’s much more difficult to build an eccentric silencer. No real benefit in this application.
I thought the same thing until I needed Swiss watches in volume, every month. Maybe your results vary. Maybe they will respond to you and lil bobby.
Inability to provide sufficient quantity to meet your schedule is NOT the same thing as a quality control issue. Important distinction.
I misspoke. We need monthly quantity that meet print and are usable without having to rework 50%.
Out of curiosity. Why would you not post who is making your barrels? The barrel is the most important part of the gun imo, and at the price point of the fix I think customers would want to know
I could be way off base here but from my small sample size of seeing how you conduct yourself on here, instagram and listening to you constantly speak over all your guests on your podcast, it makes it very difficult for me to ever want to purchase a product from you. I really wanted to be sold on a fix rifle but the more information I gather about the rifle and see first hand how you react to criticism, the less I want to buy something that very well may be a great product.
It’s a Q barrel. That, and the entire package make The Fix an excellent value.

I was told they are using Green Mountain barrels same that they use in Honey Badger. You can pay for an upgrade to Proof or? I don’t know.

Well despite all the negative Nancy's on here swinging their E-penises around trying to discredit someone who has been a proven quality and inovative pioneer in the industry for many years. I dropped $1100 on an illegal tax stamp and a Thunder Chicken. Yep, popped my suppressor virginity with a Thunder Chicken... I have zero worries about the quality of welds, back pressure or sound suppression.
I have held and inspected the can first hand and was impressed by pretty much everything about it except for the cherry bomb not having exterior wrench flats. The Trash Panda and Thunder Chicken were also HIGHLY recommended by the local specialty shop who has experience with the products and various customer feedback.
Some of you here need to realize that the no BS straight shooters come off as assholes most of the time because we do not care to waste effort on giving warm fuzzies but rather spend it on logic and confidently tell you how it is. It's a curse and a blessing.

However, being a dick, not answering questions like where parts of your very expensive rifle come from and talking trash about top tier brands/builders is not good business practice. There is always 3 sides of a story, the truth somewhere in between.

What are the dimensions on the cans? seems the CGS one is a bit longer (and heavier?). Wouldn't it be expected for it to be quieter? Are there any cans that are same sizes where a comparison would show better baffle or overall designs?
Check your information, this is not meant to be abrasive, I just want to make sure we are stating facts. If you’re getting the information from the CGS website, it is not updated.
IIRC the CGS Hyperion is slightly longer, it’s hard to get a good idea of how much in a SxS comparison because of the “FEATURES” (protruding design elements “features”) on the Front and Rear end caps of both Suppressors. I don’t know for certain the dimensions, I just remember reading this in one of these threads. Inbetween the little person porn..
The length may equate to a slight difference, not 7-8 decibels. What really surprised me is that the 3rd through 5th shots were over 140 decibels. Average was 140, that blows me away, I wasn’t expecting that at all.
Don’t get too carried away with the dimensional differences. This is the EXACT form factor difference between the two suppressors.

This baffles me also.why does the Q suppressor seem to get louder with every shot vs most cans being loud on the first shot due to the FRP. Why is that? I'm new to suppressors and would like to know all that I can before I buy another one.

Thusly, there is an 8% volume margin in favor of Q.
Going to length, the Full Nelson is listed as 8.86" long with .225" of hex sticking out the front. We'll call this .225" of length from the flat part of the front cap a design feature. The Hyperion is 9.5" long, the same length as an AAC Cyclone for example, with .235" of design features sticking out from the flat part of the front cap. So we subtract design features from the overall lengths and this gives us, "useable length" for sound reduction.
That's 8.635" for the Full Nelson and 9.265" for the Hyperion, and the actual usable difference between the two is .63" or ~5/8 of an inch, which is ~1/16" less than the width of a dime.
