Decided to screw around with this thing again and quickly realized why I hung it up when I messed with it the last time.
I have the harness with the back panel.
Whenever I put any kind of weight in either a hydro bladder or an attached TYR ruck on the rear, regardless how I have it adjusted, the rear wants to sag and the front wants to basically point at the sky until the middle/upper parts of my rib area stops it. I've tried tightening it, making the adjustable nylon shorter/longer...same thing. It's not like I'm trying to put 100lbs in the ruck.
The problem just seems to be that the center of gravity, which the harness has no way to combat, basically just pulls the back down with nothing to stop it from happening. This is such an obvious/easy problem to have and I keep thinking that something must be wrong with how I have it set up. But there's really no adjustments other than the cumberbun diameter and the 2 straps on the front.
If you look in some older threads, you can see some guy basically has it loaded down with stuff and it seems to stay put. Look at Post 16 here: https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/my-vest-set-up-for-sniper-competitions.198690/
How the hell is the front of the cumberbun not up around his neck? I have a hydro bladder in my ruck and the back of my harness its wanting to basically hit the floor and after just moving a bit the damn cumberbun is at a 45 degree angle. Hell there's guys that wanted to put a rifle on the back..how??
Is it super cinched in or something?
ETA - So I think I figured it out partially. You either need to have a gut, or have to wear it basically almost over your belt (which is kind of retarded). I don't have a gut, so wearing it much lower than I'd ever wear a chest rig worked, but is pretty retarded.
