Hey guys, Im going to be painting a barreled action soon and since I dont have a oven large enough for a baked on finish, Im stuck with ALUMA-HYDE II. I dont want to use Duracoat, not a big fan.

So on to what I need. My MCM A5 stock is Desert camo, so Im kinda stuck on what color Alumahyde to buy. So does anyone have anything painted with Alumahyde II in the following colors (Earth Brown, Coyote and Desert Tan) they can post pics of?

thanks

Go w/ coyote. the tan is too light and the coyote will be a closer match. I have used Tan and coyote Allumahyde 2 before but dont have any pics sorry.

The coyote is pretty close to matching the mag-pul,vltor,etc.. flat dark earth. Alumahyde II is pretty good stuff. Just try not to put it on too thick.

This is my Bushmaster, done in Coyote. You can see where the cases have chipped the finish off the brass deflector, but other than that, it has been pretty durable for me.

On a side note, I got a rifle from a buddy a while back that had been camoed with AH and I wanted to strip the finish of to do it in different colors. I used lacquer thinner, brake cleaner, acetone and a few other "Methyl-Ethyl bad shit" chemicals and still had a bitch of a time getting it all off.
