Just wondering if anyone out there is using a Benelli Vinci. I was thinking of picking up another SBE II and saw a Vinci sitting next to it. It looks ridiculous, but I have to admit, it feels nicer against my shoulder than the SBE II.

Re: Anyone Using A Vinci?

Wont handle the 3.5 and is harder to clean. Don't know this for fact but by design and getting to tearing one down I can see gravity pulling debri down into the inertia system, be it powder flakes, mud, grass or just water. But it does shoulder nicely.

Re: Anyone Using A Vinci?

Got one inbound. I went with it because it will cycle the cheap walmart bulk packs. A feat the SBEII will not do. I don't shoot any of the 3.5" loads. Haven't seen the need with what I've gotten out of the standard 3" guys.

Best price was Sportsman's Warehouse. $1200 for black and $1300 for camo.

Re: Anyone Using A Vinci?

I strongly considered trying one when they came out. I do think they are kind of ugly but not being able to run 3.5 inch was the deal breaker for me. I have had too much success with the big turkey loads to give them up. Hence I have stuck with my SBE2 and had zero reason to complain.

Re: Anyone Using A Vinci?

I've shot a couple, and putting the fact they don't fit me and I dislike the forearm ergonomics, I just was not that impressed. The M2 and SBEII are so well proven that the vinci would have to have at least a couple years of rave reliability and performance reviews to make me even think of trying one over the proven benelli models. It recoils a bit softer than the M2/SBEII but in the field you just won't notice it. It's only 0.1-0.2lb lighter than the M2 so weight isn't an issue. It balances a bit better empty but loaded I think the M2/SBEII balance better. They say it's slightly faster cycling....the M2/SBEII already cycle so fast it's a not factor.

As to the 3.5" I just don't see the need, but for many more will always be better, if they came out with a 3.75" 12ga shell guys would trade in their 3.5" guns in a heartbeat and rave about how 3.5" was not enough, and when the 4" shell came along they would do the same to the 3.75".

Re: Anyone Using A Vinci?

The SBE 1 AND 2 will shoot all cheap walmart rounds you can put threw it when they are new they have a few problems shooting light loads but after you put a box thru it they will shoot whatever you want threw it.As for the vinci personally I dont like it the way it feels the stock is wrong for me and 1300 for a non 3.5 not worth it just buy a SBE2 and be better off.

Re: Anyone Using A Vinci?

no experience with the vinci but every sbe1 and 2 ive ever shot ,including mine wich ive put several thousand rounds of walmart ammo thru ,does fine with cheap ammo . if you have one that doesnt i would send it back for a once over.

Re: Anyone Using A Vinci?

I'll stick with my SBE II for ducks and geese. I dont see 1300 bucks worth of improvement from the SBE II to the Vinci which would make me feel the need to upgrade.
