I'm shooting a new lot of LC brass M118LR at the moment and find your MV variances interesting as I think I have a lot thats shooting hotter than typical and it has me scratching my head
. I was using a MV of 2550 for both of my 20" guns, 1 a Rem 700 AAC-sd and the other a Bighorn action with a Bartlien barrel, both 1-10 twists, both shot the same day/conditions. After doing a POI correction on both of them with my ballistic calculator, it was showing MV of 2747 and 2700. Shooting the rest of the day with that MV proved to be dead on all the way out to 1000m. I was surprised to say the least at those MVs but they worked. Environmentals were nothing outstanding 85 degees, baro 29.65, humidity 27%, elev 1450 MSL, mostly zero wind with an occasional 3-5mph from 6oclock.
So I am curious to see what others are getting MV wise with this ammo as it is apparently shooting hotter than earlier M118LR lots.
