Rifle Scopes Anything I can do with a busted Bushnell?

I bought a used Remington 700 in .300 WSM a while ago from a dealer, came with a Bushnell 6-24x50 on it (unsure of what model???). After maybe 10 rounds, the windage knob just fell off. I was reaching up to adjust, and felt space, then looked around, and on the floor next to my foot is the knob. As I don't have the original paperwork from it, what are my options? Is it worth sending back to be repaired? Looking to buy a .22-250 for my beginner's leap into coyote hunting, would be nice to not have to spend the money on a new scope too if I can avoid it. Thanks in advance.

^Sound advice, but wouldn't it be better off used as a training target for counter-sniper shots?

lol......if you buy the same scope again, you and your spotter will have matching reticles

Send it in to them....they can either tell you:

Yep its broke, u want it back?
We will fix it and send it back.
We will fix it and $$$ is the cost.

Call them and get an RA, its worth the 15 bucks to ship it.

Does the knob just thread back in to the tube? If it does, just turn the elevation knob all the way up to release the tension on the erector spring, use a small amount of blue loctite and a strap wrench and thread that sucker right back in the tube. That is providing the threads aren't stripped.
If this looks like a way to go you can put the scope in an oven at 120 degrees F with some silica pellets for about 1/2 hour before you do the fix- this will help remove any moisture in the scope and even though it doesn't have inert gas in it, at least the moisture will be out of it and I think you will find it will work well in most weather.

Send it to Bushnell. They are obligated to repair it or replace it according to their warranty policy adopted around 1987. I have bought a Sauer 90 with a busted Bushnell Banner on it, sent it in and 3 weeks later a brand new scope arrived.

Thats what I would do send it in.

I'd call the Bushnell folks. They are very easy to deal with and I have had very good results in th 2 dealings I have had with them over the years.
