Hello all, picked up a APA sako quad and i cant get the barrel tight to save my life.

What i mean is i can wiggle the barrel back and forth. its not the action moving it is the barrel.

Has this happened to anyone else. Previous owner states both quads he have were like this?

Should i be worried?

Thanks!

If you can help me out shoot me a PM

Quad barrels are locked in place with a set screw that can be accessed from the bottom of the rifle. If you look from the bottom you should see a hole in front of the magazine and mine takes a Torx driver but not sure which size. You may want to try tightening this screw. Other than that, you will probably need to remove the action from the stock to see if the screw is missing or broken...

It definately should not be loose! All of my barrels (4) lock up nice and tight. The two that I had Chad do for me actually kinda snap into place.

I still have the factory take down screw and it's an allen head.

Yes I removed barrel from action then put back together and tightened down. Before you could shake the rifle and hear the barrel smack each side of the stock. Now it dosent do that when you shake the rifle but is still loose :( Hope i can get it fixed!
