Hi all! Any recomendations on wich one of these actions would be prefered for a first "upscale" precision rifle? I'm most famailar with the rem 700 action, and was thinking about getting one of these with an "accurization" job, but, for not much more I could get a APEX VR-1 or Surgeon .. but .. I don't know much about these two.

What are the benefits of the other two actions?

Thanks!!

Re: APEX VR-1 VS Surgeon VS rem 700 actions

Having worked with the Remington and the Surgeon, and designing and manufacturing the APEX VR-1. They are really three different levels of rifle. The Surgeon works with Remington components and drops into Remington stocks. It is very well machined and strong because of the integral recoil lug and picatinny rail.

The APEX VR-1 is a system, it works with the bedding block, bottom metal and bedding to be an incredibly stable platform. It does not drop into Remington stocks, but Remington stocks can be re-inlet to work with the APEX VR-1 action etc.

Built right, all three actions will produce a rifle that will out shoot most people. The Remington will be a little less money, and the Surgeon and APEX VR-1 will cost about the same.

Thanks George, I had googled for apex VR-1 and looked on your site, but I couldn't seem to find any detals on it, other than what is here on the snipers hide.

Thanks for the info!!
