I built an AR-15 for my uncle, and he is happy with it, but he called today and said it is hopping 6 inches left when he shoots off of sand bags? He was wondering if it is the flash suppressor. It is an A-2 birdcage. I'm gonna guess it's shooting form? I'm sure there are tons of variables, but I was wondering if there was anything gun related? He was wanting to turn the birdcage so it would put more gas out the left side to correct it. But as I said, I'm sure it's just form? Let me know what you think. Thanks

That sounds more on the lines of Shooting Fundamentals and recoil Management.

Pick up a Gen3 Micro Bastard and adjust it for your uncle,
Also consider a heavier barrel to help keep the rifle planted.

Cheek weld presses the stock to the right and sends the muzzle to the left. It’s usually up and to the left but if he’s got it pinned down hard it may not be able to go up so it just goes left. Even if you timed an a2 90deg it wouldn’t have the energy to move the gun 6” left.
