Re: AR ATACS Camo Dip

Looks good!!! I believe you'll be very happy with Don's work. We've sent him an average of 2 guns a week from the shop for the last 3 months and every one has turned out really good! Us and the customers have all been very pleased. I had him dip the stock on my 243 in ATACS just over a month ago and it looks great. He can be kinda hard for some folks to deal with because he seems a bit gruff sometimes but he really is a great guy once you get to know him.

That looks great! I am pretty psyched. My first long gun (16" spiral fluted REPR) is coming from Northwest Tactical and it is going to be dipped in what I guess is the same process. How does it seem in terms of scratch-ability? Will it wear pretty well or is going to just get totally ugly fast?

Mcfly, It wears pretty well. Not as tough as duracoat or gunkote but it's fairly durable. The dip from companies like NW and Camo Solutions is a lot better than what the factories use. It's better quality film and the smaller outfits are interested in quality instead of quanity. If it's a hard use gun the dip will probably hold up fairly well for 5 or 6 years before it gets bad enough you'll want to do anything to it. If you're easy on your guns it will last a LONG time.

Macfly,

I have a LWRC M6A2 SPR in ATAC's, that I purchased from NWT. So, far, the dipping has held up very well. And this is to include being accidentally dropped on crushed stone and purposely dragged through the dirt.

Re: AR ATACS Camo Dip

Can you post some pics up of your rifle put together? Would love to see the thing in some diffent outside light. Looking at getting my rifles painted in something similar and would love to see how that looks.

Thank you
