Watch your fingers! Assuming you get one with a reciprocating charging handle.

Re: ar charging handle

Scott Medesha (medeshafirearms.com) can machine his charging handle into an upper for around $90 and he turns them around in about 2 weeks. Hes the best and one of the first to do this mod. He has my 308 upper now to do this mod. I am having him mill a slot on the left side so I dont have to come off th pg with my firing hand.

Is there a non-reciprocating one out there ?

The American Spirit choice above is non-reciprocating.

I think the reason they are not more popular is the price,I have one and they are extremely well made right down to the slot for the gas key is covered by a hinged block.Only problem I had was the CH "snicked" against the bolt release just a hair, ground the bolt release a tiny bit, smooth.

I have been using the Fulton Armory style for about 4 years now and no complaints, the handle can also act as a forward assist.

Re: ar charging handle

Some of the aftermarket charging handles are nice. Once your muscle memory gets ingrained with operating the charging handle a certain way, it's hard to change. Still, I'd be willing to try out an upper with a left side, non-reciprocating charging handle.
