Years ago I bought an AR in an 11.5 pistol. I put about 2 mags through her , and shes been in the safe ever since. Over the years I have ended up with a few extra pieces, But Today The UPS man brought me a 18"WOA SPR barrel. I had completely forgot about it since it had been order 5 months ago for another build, and said build was sold due to lack of components. Now the problem, do I use the pistol for a new build or sell, and start fresh?

don't have a stock yet, thinking of a plain A2 or adjustable one. will have to order one . I might be able to trade the short barrel and pistol buffer for some parts. Im gonna need , stock / buffer set up, Free float tube of some sort, Optics / mount, Trigger group, Bolt

I guess this should be called Operation spare Parts , Dug up a box of spare parts I had in the shop, everything except a gas tube. Ordered one last night. Ill see if I can post some pics.

Hopefully will have some range time this tuesday. We will see how she groups, with 55grn Walmart cheap ammo , and 69grn Federal GMM. Also Changed out a few parts. went with a MI Low profile gas block and brownells gas tube , ditched the magwell grip, and borrowed some glass from friend. no bipod stud yet so it will be shot from a bull bag.

OK, burnt some powder today at the farm. The 69 federal looks really promising . the walmart stuff, that will be a big NO. Going to the range tomorrow .Thinking of doing 5 3 shot groups overall . should also show POI shift as barrel heats up.

well she's a keeper. worst group was 1.125, best was just under.625 . POI didn't really change as it heated up but group size did. She sure does need a new trigger . I had forgotten how bad the stock stuff was.
