I have been slowly amassing parts for my first AR10 build and in short want to know if I need a low mass BCG with JPs Silent Capture Spring?

What I have is Aero upper and lower, Geiselle trigger group, 6CM 16" wilson barrel, JPs SCS buffer, it will always be used with a suppressor. The things I need and am trying to decide upon are the BCG and the gas block. I like the SCS, but not sure if the low mass BCG is necessary. Trying to decide if adjustable gas block is necessary and if I should go with a low mass or regular BCG.

If this is already in a post, I apologize because I did not find it.

Thank you for any advice.

So it seems an adjustable gas block is necessary, what about the adjustable gas key in the bolt carrier? Can you explain how that works and if it is necessary if I have an adjustable gas block?

I use Superlative Arms adjustable gas block. You can set it to restrict gas or in your suppressed rifle, bleed excess gas out of the block. You will not need an adjustable gas key when you use an adjustable gas block.

Potentially stupid question. If you have an adjustable gas block and turn the pressure down wouldn't that leave the bolt locked longer? I can see where a low mass carrier might move faster, is it a thing where the carrier is just too light so once it starts it keeps going? New to playing with the mass and springs.

You did not answer the question. We are talking high pressure 6 Creedmoor. You go too light on the bolt and buffer and it will unlock the bolt too quick and bad shit happens. We aren’t talking 5.56 here.
That's why you lower the gas with the adjustable gas block which fixes that problem ...so yes I did answer your question
