FAST!!! IDK, never chronod it but she sure does get there quicker than my Hoyt ever did.

Re: Archery rests

I am figuring with that setup at a minimum if your right at 600 grns and not running feathers, you should be hitting close to 300 that works out to be 120lbs KE, pretty wicked.

I am running 292 fps on 500 grns comes out to 94 KE and I thought I was humpn hot iron.

Re: Archery rests

About 10 fps for the extra inch of draw, lose about 1 fps for every 5 grains of arrow weight extra, add 2 fps per each extra pound of draw weight. That is a thumper.

Mine is 383 grains at about 337 fps. About the same Ke, but lesser momentum than your setup strick9. Gets the job done perty well though

Re: Archery rests

No reason to shoot a longer draw just cause. I can shoot 31, and have a lot in the past, but actually shoot much better at 30 inches. I guess I still am in a fashion near 31 as the D Loop adds about 1/2 to 3/4 to the DL.

Re: Archery rests

wood bow, wooden arrows i make myself, and i shoot off my hand.... never could figure how i was supposed to attach that wisker bisket my brother sent me for christmas one year...

still building my yew longbow...

Re: Archery rests

Self bows are the cats meow. I have handled a few of my uncles osage and yews, and even some bamboo lams, I own a tfIII and a morrison TD. They are sweet but I am weak. When it comes to blood letting time the wheels go with me. I did whiff a mule deer buck and a whitetail doe back to back with the trad bow two years ago, that may have something to do with it. Call me gay or light weight but I still have the training wheels on when it comes to trad, it is a different game in shooting and also hunting!!

Re: Archery rests

nothing wrong with whatever tool you use bro.... if you are getting out and enjoying yourself dont ever let someone who thinks his nikes are better then your reboks bring you down. i know i shoot smaller groups with training wheels, but i enjoy shooting stick n string bows...

this corner of the internet is one of the few places i knew i could pop up as a trad archery guy in the midst of a bunch of compound guys and no be sh#t on... and vice versa...

Re: Archery rests

ripcords are about as bullet proof as they come for being simple... its a lock up drop away that IF anything ever happens to it, you can strip it down in about 30 seconds and put it back together (theres only three parts)...

Re: Archery rests

forgot about vapor trails... those are just plain awesome and simple! if you go on you tube theres a video showing the speed of the vapor trail limb driver compared to a typical drop away.. pretty amazing..<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: 4ester</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Depends on your own preference. If you want a rest that you put an arrow on and dont have to tend it to keep it on, then go with the whisker biscuit. You may loose some fletchings eventually but thats the nature of the beast.

Personally I switched to the Vapor Trail Limbdriver last year and have been very pleased. Easy to setup, and works great. My shooting has improved from it. IMO

Using Blazer Vanes, GT Arrows, Hoyt Cam 1/2 </div></div>
