Are Suppressors & SBR's even worth it?

I live in Oregon and it's easy to tell where this state is headed just by looking at the direction that other Blue states have gone, or are about to go.

Are Suppressors even worth getting if you live in a shitty state like mine? I want to hear from the people in places like California, New York, etc. I want to outfit every firearm I have with one but it seems like a waste of money if I can already sense that that is the direction my state is heading in next. And I know that the end aim of gun control advocates isn't safety, it's ending gun ownership, and their path there is to make life as hard as possible for law-abiding gun owners.

Is there any national/federal protection for me that can circumvent any future State ban on Suppressors and SBR's? SBR's are legal but I just know they won't be in the future, especially in my state. Are they worth it? I don't mind a $200 tax stamp, I care more about losing a large collection of NFA-approved items in the future. Is this something you worry about if you live in somewhere like California?

Sad but true. I see Texas standing strong despite the Californian exodus over there. I guess I'll buy property in Idaho then so I can be close to Oregon and move when things get unbearable. I guess we need to renew the gun culture so that it'll matter to younger people too. I don't know the demographics of this site but my bet is that most of you are over 35, not only because guns are an expensive hobby but more so that I feel that a lot of you come from backgrounds where guns were not looked down upon as it is among half of those who live in my state.

My use is varied, as I will be throwing them on everything from 9mm handguns and PDW's and 22LR rifles to AR-10's and Bolt Action rifles, but my primary goal is to make my use of firearms more pleasant to shoot, especially hearing-wise, and a secondary goal is flash suppression, which suppressors provide.

I want cans that will outlive my barrels, that are reliable and have good reviews from a lot of people. There are a lot of cans that are cheaper and have less reviews and I kind of want to stay away from those. The suppressors I buy next year will be my first suppressors so I don't know what to expect or what to look out for beyond the Youtube videos and reviews online I've seen.

We all chose our own paths. I am at the point in my life it just isn't a big deal. If we want to visit, we will.

I haven't done much research into suppressors, but my early choice of the Sandman over the Nomad is that I heard the Sandman is made for real heavy-duty use, and as I said above, I want a can that'll outlast my barrel. 174 stainless steal construction for both cans, so they should be the same in terms of durability.

While Portland/Multnomah County is a bunch of crazies, the rest of Oregon is pretty nice. Even adjacent counties to Multnomah, like Clackamas, and to a large extent even Washington County are mostly fine. And up to now, firearm legalities were relatively liberal (I mean that in the literal way, "wide open"). You could open carry, no mag cap restrictions, no "assault rifle" bans, concealed carry with a permit. Though I disagree with a permit requirement for concealed (it should be "Constitutional Carry"), there has really been no need to leave due to overbearing and nonsensical gun laws in this state. I've lived here for 42 years and it's been fine so far until this recent debacle with Measure 114.

The Nomad reg should have no trouble holding up unless you are doing mag dumps all day every day or something. I think the sandman is also a great can just not as quiet but I do love me some nomad cans.

Don't miss too much sleep doing it but I seriously would have some kind if plan, you have a little time to do it though so don't stress yourself out over it.

If you're doing an SBR you dont have to put that silly tube thing on it. You can put a real stock on it, that's what you're paying the $200 privilege fee for.

Get a mask, a nomad and a form 1 for whatever lower you want to sbr in jail now. Then add one or two at a time when you can.

Sounds good! My 9mm cans will be for my PDW's (Scorpion & GHM9), and for fun with two of my handguns. One of my handgun was made to do well with suppressors, while my other that I will build out (a Glock) I'm not too sure about because I don't know too much about Glocks suppressed. But I will definitely be getting a multi-cal can. I think I'd like two cans in every category I own, 30-cal can, 556 can, 22LR, 9mm, but I'll start with just one of each to see how I like them.

SBR's, SBS's and AOW's I can understand hesitation on, because you have to have permission to take them out of state, and other nanny crap like that, so I hesitate going that route, but suppressors don't have any of that nonsense attached to 'em.

Awesome well I guess I'll have to include it then. I really want the best experience possible with my bolt guns and AR-10's. I felt like I could get two suppressors for the price of one TBAC but I really want one stand-out top-tier can that will last me a long time.

The only person you are required to show your tax stamp to is an ATF agent on official business. Range, local LE, etc. cannot ask to see your tax stamp.

If you're paying $200, why wouldn't you keep the stock on? Kinda defeats the whole purpose of the tax stamp.

I literally travel all over the country with my NFA items (matches) and have never had an issue. Don't think too much about it, it is actually relatively easy to own NFA items (minus empty wallet).
