Are Suppressors & SBR's even worth it?

Thank you Branden. I was just worried with 8 states banning suppressors that it might happen with mine.

I haven't heard of any states that have legalized suppressors, and gone back on that. I've only heard of states that had previously banned them, legalizing them. If i'm wrong, someone will correct me on here fortunately. There's a first time for everything of course, I just don't know when we're going to cross that threshold and see the attitudes shift.

At the end of the day, it's just money. You will make more money, so go ahead and get the suppressors you want now. I don't think avoiding purchasing something that is legal now for concern it'll one day not be legal anymore, is a really great way to enjoy life. If they ban it, deal with it then, because there's a possibility you'll be able to live your whole life without a ban ever coming down. I wouldn't pour your life savings into suppressors and SBR's, but you can have a really great time and only have $10K or so tied up in it, and $10K really isn't that much money compared to some hobbies.

In Ohio, we have Buckeye Firearms, a grassroots gun rights group. In the last 50 years, we've legalized suppressors, hunting with suppressors, CCW, constitutional carry, castle doctrine and stand your ground. You can also hunt with straight wall cartridges. More public shooting ranges are being added (I seldom go there). You can own machine guns, no limits on caliber, or mag capacity. So while I don't like any restrictions, we've moved in a positive direction in the last 50 years.

I feel like it's more of one side is trying to prison rape us, the other is making us dinner, engaging in small talk, and caressing our backs before the raping.

Well I live in Oregon and have 7 suppressors and 1 sbr and about to sbr another one, so yes its worth it.

True. That's a really good perspective to put on it, plus I'll get many years of enjoyment out of them and I'll always make more money down the line.

My car hobby is just as expensive, my tech hobby not as expensive, and I'm happy I'm not a sneakerhead or an audiophile. Too many hobbies pulling me in different directions haha.

If you're paying $200, why wouldn't you keep the stock on? Kinda defeats the whole purpose of the tax stamp.

I literally travel all over the country with my NFA items (matches) and have never had an issue. Don't think too much about it, it is actually relatively easy to own NFA items (minus empty wallet).

I feel more at ease now. I didn't want every other trip to the gun range to be an anxious one. I'll go through with NFA-ing my SBR's and build my suppressor library next year with a lot less anxiety.
