Europeans may not have as easy access to certain kinds of firearms as we do, but they are FAR from disarmed in much of the continent. In some eastern Euro countries (Chech Republic, Slovenia, Slovakia, etc), they are as heavily armed as we are.

Many last-term and just-graduated university students lived monk-like existences as oposicionistas, incessantly studying for selective government examinations in order to fill civil service slots. While my experience during the temperate months was quite pleasant, summers can be miserable, and winters are generally spent moving to stay warm, unless huddled around a butane space heater at home. And the gas? Russia has a stranglehold on Western Europe for heating fuels. Really, there just isn't enough to go around in general, and people complain. I've seen demonstrations by students in all sort of facultades complaining about the incongruity of advanced education without a vocational end, and the goings-on in France surrounding the imposition of additional fuel taxes is no surprise. Even there, in my experience, the daily existence of many is much closer to the Third World than it is the First.

I should clarify my statement, I'm not justifying the governments actions in the EU, but more so lamenting that a solid leader has not risen up out of the crowd to champion a specific set of new , better ideals to replace the old. Instead it seems like pure chaos with people saying they want change, and that change is substituting cancer for aids. Unless I am missing it, I don't see a figurehead rising out from the crowd who has a plan to fix the issues that would make me cheer on the yellow jackets.

There's very little middle ground in politics any more in general. What passes for a milquetoast moderate Republican here would be thought to be ideologically regressive by the Leftists over there. That is pretty much the ugly truth about Europe, not just Spain, from England to Scandinavia.
A pretty façade promulgated by the Elites of how wonderful their socialist system is.

Bernie was touting it as a huge success at the time but he can’t back away from it fast enough now. It is incredible to me that lessons are not learned from the history of the last ten years.... Communists / Socialists never learn because according to them the failures are always because the people weren't "Communist Enough" and if they only were "More Properly Communist" they would have succeeded.
