Armalite Adjustable Gas Block?

Re: Armalite Adjustable Gas Block?

Paladin will set you up with what you need!

Noveske is working on a 7.62 Switchblock, but nothing available yet.

The Armalite system, while it works well on the SASS rifles it was designed for, can have issues functioning properly on other rifles (i.e. - any rifle with something OTHER than a 20" barrel). Armalite tried to adapt the SASS system onto their 16" barreled lineup and it is my understanding that they never go it functioning 100%. Also, as you noted, they are cost-prohibitive considering other options that are available.

Re: Armalite Adjustable Gas Block?

I got the Paladin on mine. I got the three position one with paddle switch.

The downsides to the Paladin are:
1. You got to measure your gas hole first and let Paladin Machine know
2. Some gas do escape from the sides of the paddle switch so I always need to turn mine a bit to prevent it from sticking and not being able to switch settings.

Good thing about it is switching settings become easy. The best suppressor shooting mode is probably "closed" where I fire the AR like a bolt action. That's really quiet.

These guys are right up the road from me. They have been 'working on' it for a couple of years now. 2 months ago I asked them about this ever coming to market - long story short - most likely not as they have not be able to get it to be as consistent as the 5.56 version across a wide range of 7.62 ammo. It is no longer a front burner project.

To their credit they aren't going to release something that doesn't work.

Good luck

Are you saying that your DD handguard covers the area where your gas block is situated?

If so...you will likely have some serious problems with about ANY adjustable gas block (first and foremost...with them fitting under the rail...second with being able to easily adjust it while it is under the rail if it does fit).

If the gas block sits in front of the rail...any of the blocks should be fine and work without issue. The PRI is no different. The straight gas tube will fit under the rail.

Does anyone know if the PRI adj gas block will fit under a SWS rail?
