Night Vision armasight co mr gen 2+ upgrade?

pretty ignorant when it comes to nv gear so go easy on me. i have a gen 2+ co mr and i'm wondering if you can upgrade the unit. if so, is it worth the $. use: pig hunting to 300ish yards. also have the streamlight lr illuminator to run with it. thanks in advance for any info

Yup. I upgraded that exactly.

To a PVS-30. Not kidding. After shooting it for a while, happily, I accidentally looked through someone's PVS30, found they were still for sale, so I sold the Armasight, scraped together a few more bucks from spare gun-related things I sold, begged the wife for another $1500 and bought the better thing. Worth it.

But without the Armasight, I would never have gotten the clip-on bug, not known how good the better thing really is. I have done the same with my NODs, my thermals, and more. Good, functional items, then sometime new stuff arrives, a deal occurs, etc. and you spend a bit more to "trade in" and step up.

thanks for the reply. i figured that might be the case. by different as opposed to upgrading. this is my first venture into the nv world and this particular unit gets the job done, but was hoping to try and get it done a little better
