I was looking at both the ARMASIGHT CO-LR GEN 3P MG as well as the ARMASIGHT CO-LR Flag MG. They arnt really that far apart on price and I was informed the Flag is actually closer to a Gen 4 NV optic. Wondering if it holds a flame to the PVS-22 NV device. It appears to be a little over 2 inches longer than the PVS-22, so I wonder if mounting options are an issue with this optic. I dont think it will fit on my M4 with an ACOG.
Paramil, Can you explain what is "Gen 4 NV optic"?
Thanks a lot!

I'm not smart enough to answer that question, but that came directly from a company rep of Armasight. May want to ask them but I think it has something to do with having a film-less auto graded ITT photocathode?
Former president of ATN is now owner of Armasight that has been discussed here. Majority of gear still made in the same place in Russia, just not buying it's some drastically different company. Gen 4 this, white phoshor that, all the same type of marketing gizmos.
From my guy at Armasight:
" Armasight advertises some models with tubes we call FLAG (Filmless Auto-gated) Image Intensifier tubes. Filmless Autogated is what ITT and L3 pitched to US Army as Gen 4. I am aware that some competitors like ATN along with other companies use term Gen 4 but Armasight is not one of them, in fact we are against using term Gen 4 because officially it does not exist. Armasight uses terminology "FLAG" Filmless Auto-Gated image intensifier tube because it is a proper term for tubes which are filmless and auto-gated."
"The President of Armasight used to be a president of ATN..."
They are all going to have similar products because they are all in the same competitive market. Until someone comes out with an all new system that truly changes the night vision game. It is no different that Ar-15's. Everyone has a better mouse trap. It is up to you to determine which one fits you and your budget the best. I can tell you that I have not seen the white phosporus on the market until recently. To me it is a better mouse trap for hunting, I cant speak for the tactical world because I have not used it at work yet.
So is it true the optics are produced/manufactured in Russia?
