I said in a previous post that “If I win at ASC I wouldn’t care if I finish last in every other match that year.” Well I won and I still feel that way. I can’t thank Rod and John enough for putting on this one of a kind match year after year. As for my score at the match this past weekend, I could not have done it without my father, Tom Sr. I couldn’t have made all of those hits without his wind calls and the load he developed and loaded for me. I hope I can return the favor in the future, so he can smile at his own ASC trophy. I also want to thank my gunsmith Jim at Predator Custom Shop. The two 300 Win Mag’s he built for my father and I are absolute hammers. My rifle is a Remington long action, Rock Creek barrel sitting on a Mcree Precision Chassis Tmag folder the glass is a Nightforce, Badger Rings, base and bolt knob. Lastly a Mountain Shooter sling, the easiest and most effective sling I have ever used. As for dope we used a Kestrel 4500 NV w/BT with the Shooter program on an Android phone. This program was spot-on even past 1700 yards. I have to thank Monica at Nielsen Kellerman for the Kestrel, it worked flawlessly with the Shooter program. Finally I need to thank all the guys that help out on the mountain all weekend and the generous sponsors who donate great gear match after match.

Hey Sean-
Is Ed's match back on? I was already to go to the last one until the farmer freaked out about the land auction... Ed says he is going to do a make-up, but I haven't heard from him.

Congrats Again Tommy. I must say nice rifle and shooting but HOW ABOUT THAT SLING!!! Glad you like it. As for next time you all may be banned with those hand Cannons. Just kidding. We just need to find heavier Steal and better ways to hand them. They are inpressive. Not sure I will ever build one but WOW! Take care. We may see you in the winter or Spring. Brock

Re: ASC the trophy the rifle and the thanks

Did you guys end up sending some rounds at the 2300 yard target?

Congrats on the finish, and great shooting. You guys didn't break too many targets this time, lol.

Maybe i'll see you at the next match, hopefully i'll have something a little more effective than a .308 then.

Re: ASC the trophy the rifle and the thanks

Congrats Tom, this is the hardest match to shoot that I have ever done, and it was well earned. No where else offers the types of shots that the ASC does.

I am much too busy to shrink down all the photos that I took, and to individually label and link them all, but I uploaded them all to my server, and here are the links, I am only going to leave this public for a very short time.

And thanks to Dave for the Data for my 6.5x47, I have not shot to 1275 in a year, and the DOPE you gave me ensured two first round hits! Only thing I hit all day.

Re: ASC the trophy the rifle and the thanks

Congrats Tom! That was some GREAT shooting. BTW- thanks for letting me shoot that cannon of yours...definitely a heavy hitter.

Hope to see you and your father at the next one!

Congrats on winning one of the best matches in the country. The scenery of that area combined with the mix of mid range, long range, cross canyon, through trees and steep angles make it one of the most enjoyable matches out there. Then of course there's Brock's tri tip...
