Ashbury Chassis system reviews?? Looking at one need to know what owners think of them .

Looking at a Mod 0 with all options the Mod 1 has but top continuous rail.

How comfortable are they ? How's the folder part? Lock up tight etc. overall fit and finish?

Anything better out there for same coin or less besides Xlr that folds.

Better than AIAX chassis? Weight is about the same.

Any reviews and pics with barreled actions would be great thanks

I've only used one for 10 shots, I go to say they are very comfortable, stable and I have never used/shouldered an ax chassis. Only thing I don't like is they are out of my price range. Oh and the looks are amazing and I love how you can adjust the distance from the trigger, because usually my fingers too close but this was perfect. The rifle I shot was a one of their 308s with their mod 1 chassis leupold mk6, atlas bipod, I don't remember which suppressor, huber trigger, surgeon action, and I don't know what barrel brand. The whole rifle wise the fit and finish was perfect it was super clean looking and preformed well. I've wanted one of these chassis but I just don't have the money to put that in the stock alone. There was one for sale which was only mounted for sale at like 2000, I say great chassis only downside is the money. Oh and I never got to fold it but didn't seem bad I never noticed any wobble.

Since you're looking at APO, have a look at the CADEX/drake chassis, too. I have one - PM me if you have questions.

I'm very pleased with the system, I've been working with them since the first prototypes. I've got a .338LM and a .308, the .338 for more than two years now. Lockup is still rock solid, the cheek piece is also solid. Hard to find someone than can't get a good fit. My only complaint is overall system weight, but unless it's built from Ti, it's pretty hard to get lighter.

Yeah ti or aluminum, but ti is more expensive and less common to find yet I got enough to for them to build more of the buttstock in Ti or enough for 3 whole rifle actions, but no one to wire edm it as blanks.

I have a Mod 0, and have been very impressed with the fit and finish...and that's coming from a guy who's not big on chassis (this came with the rifle). I used to own an XLR Evolution, but although it was a magnificent work of art, for whatever reason, I could not get comfortable behind it. On the APO, you can adjust every damn thing imaginable on it...even the pistol grip's distance from the trigger guard. APR hit a homerun with these chassis.

That would make it heavier, there's only so thin the parts in the chassis can be cut and Ti is 60% heavier than AL.

A friend of mine has several, they're nice and very well built. Weight is not dissimilar from other pistol grip chassis systems on the market, the adjustability is probably the best thing that I've seen thus far... My only complaint is the cost.

Well, stand by for a review. I have a Mod1 incoming . It will be on the 338 . I will be doing a write up for them from unboxing it to the first shots down range.

I first shot one 2 years ago with Cory . Fell in love with the damn thing . Yes it is fricking pricey. But after standing behind my mill with a chunk of aluminum , getting ready to copy my AX chassis , APO's price is not out of line . This rifle is also shot by different people from around the world every month . The last guy was a brit commando and could do no wrong . I don't want to go out and demo weapon systems with them with sub standard equipment.
Right now my rifle sits in a McMillian A-5. I have put their stocks on everything I own since 1985 when the old man himself built my first M40. For some reason , on the 338 , I just cant stand it after shooting the APO. Heavy sigh ...... It will be here next week . Anyone need a A-5 for a Surgeon XL ?

Ashbury did the chassis in Bubblegum Pink, I assembled it. Just dropped in a 700 5R in 223 for her. Mile High opened up the base screw holes to fit, as you need 8-40x

The carbonfiber forend version is very very well balanced. Can't speak to the pink one above though.

Wish I could afford one of their rifles. Their Pinnacle Barrels are daBomb: minimized weight (deep round-bottom flutes) yet a 2x safety factor on a Proof load. They contribute to a really nice balance on the gun. They also work some kind of black magic that minimizes the POI shift for suppressor off/on. They've also started making the fore-end completely carbon fiber from the transition piece forward; it doesn't shave too many oz off, but it contributes to the balance.

Personally I don't think you can find better. My only complaint is their customer service and the fact they do not make a top rail to fit a Stiller Tac 30 action and trying to get them to make one for a Stiller is like trying to get Obama to repeal Obamacare. Fold is solid but I'd save a couple bucks and get the detachable stock.

They are pricey but worth every cent, just don't use a Stiller in your build or a 30MOA top rail, finding a scope that will zero at 100 yards on a 30 MOA rail is a real challenge.
