Ashbury Precision Ordnance Sniper's Hide Edition Rifle

Well, they are on 3 day work weeks and short staffed besides, so getting almost anything done is a project.

Cov19 has jacked up a lot of companies workflow for sure.

APO is a GREAT group of people and have always been SUPER helpful and informative. They have sent me technical data sheets with all the info I've ever needed.

I love the APO Saber Chassis.

Sorry if I've come across as a jerk, not my intention.....I am just excited about the SERiSS and would love to have it.

I would have ordered a SERiSS but for now here's my fix a good friend made for me (edit: sorry there must be some upgrade to forum that's blocking my picture upload because the "file is too large")

Now I'm waiting on a new BT device for testing. It's been a real cluster, no one wants to share any data, I can't say I'm hopeful. Anyone know a good Android interface designer? It might be easier to get FFS on an android with current BT, but learning the Android interface is a long process for us old Windows programmers.

Dude, getting FFS on Android with the ability to run on same device as ATAK would be huge

Help me find someone to create a user interface, the rest of the code I can manage. Even in Visual Studio it's a mess, but I'm not really an Android user in the first place, so my attempts so far look pretty awful.

3 day work week? Here we are not wearing masks like company policy states and living life with no issues. I’ll just keep checking the group buy section every few days And see if it materializes. I don’t want to buy something else before 2nd week of November but maybe I’ll have to.

I received a call from APO today. My rifle failed the test fire phase and went back into the shop. I am glad they guarantee a quality product.

My rifle is scheduled to ship on Friday. Second test fire was successful. Two targets with 5 shot groups, one was .499 and the other was .194
Bought one last year, I'm happy and for me it's easier to shoot than my AIAT which I'm in the process of fixing that issue.
I'm sure you will be happy, hard to find a rifle in that price range that's better.
APO does good!
All I have shot thru it has been American gunner 140s performs well and better than my test target of .379 providing I have my act together.
Have fun with it.

At any point, will just the chassis be offered, and will there be a long action at some point? I really like the chassis, it is so basic, but yet very modular.

should still be for sale separately from the barreled action.

You can buy the standard M700 chassis, but not the Sniper's Hide chassis since the rifle configuration is the only thing listed on there website. I did see they now have there skeleton stock listed in the MRCS-AR chassis datasheet under part number SABER SERISS.

sorry about that. Forgot this was for the SH rifle and not the generic one we had for the Saber 700. They kind of blend together for me.

Roger that.

Hopefully I’ll get a callback to place the order (this overtime money is burning a hole in my pocket).

Here at APO we do make the a chassis (RSA-A3-ERT Mod-0) with the same features as the sniper's hide, but not with the snipers hide CNC cut engraving or laser engraving, Retail Price is $1,499.00. those chassis are built to order so if you want to look putting an order in shoot me DM an i'll be happy to help get the process rolling.

Not the Hide rifle but my
Savage APO 24” 1:10 is excellent!

Not the Hide version. Shot with the standard Saber M700 @ 500 meters/546 yards. Only used it to get a Coues Whitetail at 300m this year.

was looking at this vs the tikka tac a1 in 308 and trying to see where the real difference for accuracy. If we go with the APO, we still need to add 1k for the accuracy package when I see people printing .5-.75 with their Tikkas. thoughts?

My test targets from APO have group sizes of . 49 and .19 so I know the rifle is quite capable of small groups. Since getting this rifle I have completely changed how I shoot. Using a bipod and rear bag are also new to me. The targets I have posted are not an indication of how well the rifle shoots but rather how I am working on bringing my sloppy form into something acceptable.
Rifles seem to be a personal preference but I can say I really like my APO. I have friends that have Tikka's and I though about buying one but I am glad I went with the APO.

Well I picked up my Snipers Hide rifle yesterday at APO on the way up my cabin. Took a while for delivery with all the Covid mess but....

I have to say it is very high quality fit and finish. Plus the Matt and crew at APO could not have been more accommodating. They have a very nice shop and clearly know their stuff.

I’ll do a range report this weekend, I’m gonna hit the range near my cabin tomorrow to site in.

Thats a sharp setup!

Zeroing the rifle went quickly (cold bore then 9 rounds) . Shot as expected with several 3 round groups at better than 1/2 MOA at 100 yards several key holes (using Hornady 140 grain ELD match).

So no drama..

I have a 1000 (or 1200 can’t remember which) yard range on April 14th until then....

I believe in the initial video showing these off, Frank said the Hide version's action had been cleaned up. Is that true of all APO Sabers?
No. I have one of the Sabers that they were selling at a deep discount and they did nothing to those or the Cabela’s exclusives. They still shoot extremely well. No complaints at all once the factory trigger broke in a little more for a $700 chassis rifle. I put a Close out Burris XTRII 4-20 on it and have a total of $1250 in the set up. Wish I’d have bought the chassis by themselves when they were deeply discounted for a couple of Savages I have.

Im not saying its evil, im just saying if this was created as a value for a new shooter, it couldve been done better. Im saying the main goal was to try and move their chassis, not provide the best value.

Also, since i own neither, what does this chassis do that a Bravo cant do? Even with the enclosed forend on the bravo, its still several hundred cheaper, which goes along way to the new shooter (hell, that goes a long way for almost everyone).
I'll be awaiting your competition to this offering.

I'm sure you'll do a great job, hell probably a better job. 👍.

Bet you're a blast at funerals. 🙄
