Gunsmithing Assembly lube for barreling action

I feel like this question have been answered before but I’m not 100% sure. What does everyone use for lube on the barrel threads when you’re barreling an action? I’ve done a few gas guns and alway used the aeroshell 33MS on the barrel nut to avoid any issues down the road, but didn’t know if the same applies for bolt guns.

Some anti seize would do you well. Especially if you're threading a SS barrel into a SS action.

I use the silver stuff made my Loctite, but I've heard the copper works well also.

It’ll be stainless into DLC’d stainless action and I have a bunch of different anti seize at work (joys of doing industrial HVAC)

Yep, about three weeks ago......
I’ve used NAPA copper based antiseize for years with no problems. Others tout NAPA nickel based. I don’t disagree, go with that. A bottle, used on barrel trunions only will last you a lifetime.

I use nickel antiseize. Pretty much everything else can cause issues with some common firearms materials in some circumstances.

I use the anti seize silver stuff made my Loctite on ar receiver threads. Always works well for me.

Ain't that the truth! Your grandkids will have it on them also. Recently picked up some Loctite LB 8036
as recommended by one of the members here. The info site states it is good up to 2000 degrees F and can be used for all metals
including stainless steel. The stuff is a nice white non staining paste not that nasty black stuff. I'm glad I picked it up.

Lol, First of all it is just a barrel nut that doesn't get over torqued. At least it shouldn't.

I always use anti sieze. The cheap stuff from the local auto parts store.

Copper because it's higher heat rated.

Or just simple lithium hp grease when I don't want everything in the shop coated in 3 minutes.
