At what velocities do the 7mm 195gr EOL start pulling away from lighter options?

Considering a 7 Saum build (on a long action). Just curious if it's possible to get velocity high enough from a 26" or even 24" 1-8 7mm saum to get the benefits out of the 195 EOL.

If you’re wanting to use the 195 and a long action, why not use a cartridge with a little more lead in its pencil?
Because I already have a 300 Nm, and want something with less recoil than that. And let's honest, the practical physical differences b/w a LA and SA receiver are negligible.

I’m doing a 7SS barrel for the 180’s and 195’s. From what I’ve read it seems to have enough juice to do it, but I’m doing it in a SA TL3.

There’s a bunch of info in this thread:

I’ll probably do a 7-300NM imp barrel for my long action M2013, just for shits and giggles.

Maybe a 284 Shehane? Or straight 284. The SAUM has always seemed half baked to me, like it’d be best in a medium length action, but I figure it’ll still do the job if it tickles your fancy.

Why saum instead of wsm. Theres still more powder capacity to help with mv. That said you may be better off driving a lighter bullet faster. Also make sure to run enough twist as the 195's want a faster barrel twist than 180's and lower.

    Update:
I decided to go w/ a 7 SS. I plan to test both the 195s and the 180s. 1-8 is good for both 195s and 180s according to Rich and several gunsmiths ive talked to (and berger calculator)
    • the 195s @ 2900 and the 180s @ 3000, the 195s win both drop and wind deflection
    • the 195s @ 2900 and the 180s @ 3100, the 195s win wind deflection and lose drop by about 1.2 mil (but im more concerned w/ wind as drop is a constant for the most part)
    • the 195s @ 2900 and the 180s @ 3200 is where the 180s starting pulling away - slightly better wind deflection, and almost 2.6 mil of drop better

I'm running the 195's in a LA SAUM with 28" 1:8 and getting 2800fps. On paper, zero windage change at 1000 if I had an extra 100fps.
I just started down the same spec 7 saum and reached that 2750fps area yesterday with a ladder of H1000 in ADG brass up to 62.2 grains without reaching pressure in my rifle. What is your recipe for the 195’s at 2800 in your particular rifle?
