So my groupings on a 22lr T1x with an Athlon Argos suddenly went to hell..
mostly seems like poi is shifting mid group.. and as I’m going through, trying to figure out what’s going on, one thing that comes to mind is the scope.
Has anyone else had issues with the Argos? Or not ever? Is it possible to have turrets/reticle come loose?
Anyone have a way to check if it’s the scope or something else like the stock?

Thanks, I’ll check mounting more closely..
I don’t have another scope to compare, maybe I can bolt a vise to my bench and take myself and scope out of the equation and see if the groups improve.
Thanks again, Justin

Check all the usual stuff. But, it’s an Argos. Get what you pay for. Comes with a good warranty. If it’s not the mounts and such, send it back and get it fixed/new one.

Send it back but my money is on a lot change or a dirty barrel or something else unrelated to the scope. But Athlon doesn’t screw around with their warranty so they will take care of you if you can ship it in and stand to be without it a couple weeks.
(Call and ask because who knows how this virus shit is gonna ruin stuff)

Yeah, tried messing with parallax.
Was shooting sub moa all day long. Then I went out on a windy day, and groups were Like 2moa.. figured it was the wind, but the next day the groups were still crappy..
Rifle is pretty new, so it has been in and out of the stock a few times. So could be the stock..
But also recently started dialing for yardage, instead of holding over.. makes me wonder if something came loose. I don’t care if tracking isn’t perfect, but I do need the reticle to stay put.
I’ll do some more testing tomorrow when I have the day off. Hopefully it’s something easy, I don’t really want to deal with sending a scope in right now.

Confirm your zero, then dial the elevation turret all the way up and down for a few minutes, then go back to zero and check if the POI is off.
Do the same for the windage turret.
Send it back if POI changes.

Also bob your head up and down while looking through the scope to see if parallax is dialed out. You can play with both the diopter and the parallax focus knob to get both as sharp and coinciding as much as possible, but sometimes the two won't be in sink perfectly.
A good cheek weld aligning eye to center of eyebox helps.

I will say that 22rf's can have poi shifts and it's hard to pinpoint where the problem is coming from. Friends and I even with our expensive rigs can be off .2 mil during zero check for whatever reason, then come back to the usual zero minutes later???
