Athlon Cronus vs Bushnell XRS II

Ive had both. I think the cronus has the better glass overall. The cronus turrets were softer and quieter but alot of guys said theres were good. The gen 2 has way better turrets they said. The wind isnt capped but there is a guy who makes a cover so it doesnt get turned on accident. The bushnell xrs2 had pretty good turrets i really liked them locking wind and locking focus. Xrs2 has more features but the cronus has better glass in my opinion. I think Athlon reticles are better. I say cronus overall u less you want more features. Search cattleman99 for the gen2 cronus for price on those

I have a Gen 1 and a BTR Cronus.
Both have been excellent scopes. Great glass and my turrets have always been very tactile.
Ive been tempted on the XRS 2, but never grabbed one. Everything I’ve heard about them is good though.
I think it probably comes down to reticle choice.

Ive never looked through an XRS II and i have a cronus BTR gen2. I can attest that both bushnell and athlon have excellent customer service. absolute top notch.

I've been running XRS2s without complaint since they were first released. I've beaten the crap out of mine and have yet to have any kind of tracking hiccups, etc. Glass is going to be subjective (conditions, light, individual eyeballs, etc), but to my eyes they compare very favorably to the Razor Gen2s. I haven't compared one side by side to a Cronus.

Just a heads up for anyone looking for a slammin' deal. We got a few Athlon Ares ETR 4.5-30x56 Brown - APRS1 FFP IR MIL Illuminated #212100B's that are new units but no box (ask me no questions I'll tell you no lies) and we are blowing these out at only $949.99. We think $250.00 off for no box is quite a savings.
Limited quantities, glad to be able to offer this deal

If you had any concerns with the turrets on the coronus they are not an issue with the gen2. They are solid and are not at risk of accidently moving if bumped. I just picked up a gen 2 last month and ran my first prs match with it a few weeks ago. I am extremely happy with it, especially for the price point. I don't have a bushnell so I cant compare, but what I can tell you is that it is not holding me back when competing.
