I'm wanting to put an Atlas on my LMT MWS and never have seen one live and in person. Does anyone know of a company that has some in stock, along with a knowledgeable sales person who could share some advice on what model, etc, I will need. I'm not looking for something free, but I hate to be gouged. Thanks...

Re: Atlas Bipod advice

I just bough the screw clamp version from Mile High, ordered it on the 26th had it on the 31st. Not bad considering a weekend in there. The QD lever would be nice, but I only took my Harris off once in two years so I figured it wasn't worth $70 to me

Re: Atlas Bipod advice

Absolutely if you are only using it on one rifle, then no reason for the added price.

However, I swap between several different rifles. It's so nice to just open the safe, grab a bipod and slap it on a rifle.

Not many of us will spend our lives with one one rifle. I feel the QD clamp versatility is worth the extra couple bucks on a bipod like the Atlas.

I don't mess with it on the Harris bipods because they are pretty quick stock.

Re: Atlas Bipod advice

(for anybody still looking) You can also go with the NC version (sometimes easier to find in stock) and add the ADM 170-S . Total $ should work out the same. Just an idea...

I'm with John 100% on the QD though. It's awesome to be able to swap the same bipod from rifle to rifle...and they also fit much nicer in the safe without the bipod attached. (and no screwdriver needed)

Re: Atlas Bipod advice

You can also keep an eye out on ebay (of course from reputable sellers) and on the for sale section here. They do appear from time to time.

I also have the QD and appreciate the ability to use the bipod on more than one rifle.

Best of luck.

The link you posted here takes you to a site where the "Atlas Review Link" doesn't work.

Re: Atlas Bipod advice

worked for me...or your Google-Fu will find the same video...and a bunch more. This one shows the ADM quick release better than most.

I just tapped and screwed a small length of pic rail behind the forward sling swivel.

Two sizes. The shorter fits Rem 700 OEM stocks with the two forward swivel attachments, spacing is about two inches. You have the option of using a sling swivel stud or a pushbutton sling socket built into the mount. Not sure I'm saying this right. Take a look.
