Hi guys how tight do you Set your atlas bipod and what is the best way to find the proper Leg extension setting?
In the matches i shoot it is not allowed to use a rear bag and i just use the support hand to Support rear of the rifle.
I have a Remmy 5R 308 aics stock and i am 1,85 m tall.
For my shoulders a higher Setting feels better but a lower Setting is more usefull for my chest and body muscle tension.
On the lowest Setting i just could put my flat Hand under the stock, If i want to use my Hand as fist i have to put the bipod 2 Points higher but in this Position i have to use my Arms to Support my weight.
What is better?
The Same it is with the nut to tighten the bipod If i Loose the Nut it is easier to compensate for a Good Level But this Way i have to use a tighter grip otherwise the rifle cants to the left caused by the barrel thread if i shoot.

How do you Set your bipods?

Regards Daniel

i'm 5'10" and I usually keep mine between the 1 and second notch showing depending on my relation to the target. Can't use a rear bag... maybe invest in a monopod? I like those (although I don't own one yet) because you can fold in the monopod to adjust for height, the same way you would squeeze the bag

Thank you for the answer.
I will buy a monopod next month and try it.
I have no Problems with Trigger control but everytime i put my rifle out of my shoulder i have variations in the Impact height.
A monopod would be a good help to build up a repeatable height in prone.

I'm 1.9M and shoot with the legs extended one notch out. this is the most comfortable for me in prone on a flat surface. I tried fully retracted and it was just too low. i couldnt get the rifle shouldered properly and was getting some hop. Try a TAB bag and use the straps to position it ... you might be pleasantly surprised. Please post a range report if you do try a monopod.
