We have the Atlas bipod Sako TRG Bracket, ATB our part # BT21 ready for sale.

A SH member chastised me for not announcing this, I had put it in another thread but should have done it this way as well. My apologies.

Re: Atlas TRG Bracket - ATB- Part # BT21

Fine. Ordered a 2nd. You Mofos aren't going to buy them all! It took me 3 months to get my latest Atlas Bipods. It's not going to take me another 3 months to fit my TRG 22 and 42.

Re: Atlas TRG Bracket - ATB- Part # BT21

Got mine mounted last evening. All I can say is that, while I love my TRG, the person who thought it would be a good idea to use a shallow slot flat head bolt and place loctite on it when mounting the OEM Sako sling adapter is a bastard. I finally had to drill one of them out.

On the bright side, everything on the adapter worked great and the Atlas mounted like a champ. It was a long time in the making, and I felt like I was on that damn email notification list forever, but it was TOTALLY worth it.

Thanks for a great product Kasey.

Anyone with one care to show it mounted?? I saw the other thread but hated the look of the additional rails on each side... I have a V8.1 with the quick disconnect, all I need now is the adaptor..

Guys, it is important to remember to heat he screws before trying to loosen them. I used a small butane torch. Don't forget to heat the head and the nut, as it will save you tons of frustration.

I did this. The first one came out alright, but the second one never budged. I still think a hex bolt like those supplied in Kasey's kit or a deeper slotted bolt would have been a better answer on a 2700 dollar rifle. Doesn't matter...I never used that sling adapter. Mine is fastened to the anschutz rail in the forearm.

Re: Atlas TRG Bracket - ATB- Part # BT21

On my TRG both of those slotted screws popped loose with a normal amount of effort. However fellow member Hellbender, that helped a ton with this project, made it clear to me that those slotted screws were buggers on both TRG's he had.

In writing the directions I wrestled with including; "heat to remove" but couldn't shake visions of flaming TRG stocks, minor explosions and such so I didn't. I concluded stuck screws are stuck screws and the methods of removing them are historical.

Re: Atlas TRG Bracket - ATB- Part # BT21

Two simple tools will save a lot of headaches removing these screws, a pencil torch is a must, many places have them for under $5..... here's a link to one....

http://www.harborfreight.com/pencil-torch-94185.html

Then make sure you have a snug fitting screwdriver and heat the screw head and the nut well, then remove it before it cools off.

DON'T strip out the slot, if you feel it start to strip, then stop and get one of these (or better yet get one of these first).....

http://www.harborfreight.com/impact-screwdriver-set-with-case-37530.html

Put the chassis on something solid and heat the screw and nut, then smack it with the impact driver, it will pop right off.

I recco you go spend $10 at Harbor Freight and you will then have NO problems with these screws, I've done 3 guns and 1 gun was easy and the other 2 needed the heat and driver.

Here is a LINK to see the bracket installed.

Also, we are now sold out...6-8 weeks we'll have more.

Thanks again for your interest, patience and input especially you Hellbender!

We only made 6 of them Hellbender...

Actually we made more and we are out (except for mine and I'm keeping it for SHOT!). So once again you are right!

We have more slated to run but it will be 6-8 weeks.

LOL I wish this had been posted before I stripped on of my barrelled action screws. C'est la vie. I am going to order one of those right now though!

Re: Atlas TRG Bracket - ATB- Part # BT21

Hugh, yes 3 & 9 tapped holes are for side rails, not sure what part number is for those two rails but we have them. They are same as BT20 without bottom rail.

Yes they will, the Whiskey chassis is identical to the SAKO in that area.
(I have both.)

Call Steve at Triad Tactical. I got the same message you did from Accushot. I called Steve and he had acouple still in stock.

Re: Atlas TRG Bracket - ATB- Part # BT21

I am definitely going to have to order one of those.

I was going to post a new thread, but I decided I thought I would ask here,
Do you prefer Harris bipods or Atlas bipods? Let me know I am thinking about purchasing the Atlas bipods for my TRG.

Atlas without a doubt.

Do a search of this site. There are plenty of threads that answer your question instead of turning this thread into yet another one.

Re: Atlas TRG Bracket - ATB- Part # BT21

I ordered the BT21 today, that was the reason for asking about the Bipods. I didn't have any experience with them, but just bought the BT10-LW17 bipods and am gonna give them a shot. Sorry for rippin up your guys thread.

Re: Atlas TRG Bracket - ATB- Part # BT21

Just got my bracket installed. It really helps the balance of the rifle. I was amazed how easy the TRG comes apart (beside the two slotted screws!) if you run an Atlas on a TRG this is a must have part. Well worth the wait.

Re: Atlas TRG Bracket - ATB- Part # BT21

Well, just got mine in tonight from Steve, and got it installed. THrew the BT-10-LW17 on it.. and DAMN... It feels nice. I will take pics once my new camera lense arrives and post her up
