Precision Rifle Gear Atlas V8 Bipod or CKYE Pod

Thanks for the heads up, I have no clue what I’m doing, I didn’t know this was the wrong place to post.
Yep no worries. All the want to buy and want to sell stuff goes in the post-exchange buy sell trade area. You can contact a mod and I believe pay a small fee to post WTB/WTS ads in there if you do not have 100 post counts. You can always comment on post there though and buy stuff no matter your post count.

if ya head over to the post exchange area and click on rules sticky it has good info there.

I personally have no experience with the cyke pod. Can’t bring myself to shell out that money 😂 an atlas psr or cal already hurts enough

lol Thanks for looking out man, some people on here only intend to kick others forgetting where they came from I guess. I will read up on the rules and contact a MOD.

As far as the Atlas to CKYE part, they are both really nice bipods. I also believe there are much cheaper options. I have gotten caught up in the BUY ONCE, CRY ONCE philosophy and hate to buy things twice.

The motto of the hide right there lol! I love it, yet hate it. I had to pull the ol’... “no no, this isn’t a new gun, I’ve had this one for a while” the other day, luckily it worked and I diffused WW3 yet again.

Lol I can imagine, seems like it’s pretty easy to set things off on here if you aren’t careful.

@TheRealMongo there's nothing wrong asking for equipment advice in the forums that's what they are here for. I think previous posters are confusing asking for advice with trying to sell stuff outside the PX or posting want to buy posts outside the PX.

I have or have had Atlas V8, Atlas CAL, and Cyke Pods. I have sold my Atlas V8s because I think the Atlas CAL is a better bipod for my uses, but I shoot matches with my Cyke Pod.

I like the Atlas CAL better than the V8 because the legs are wider apart making for a more stable base and because I don't use the pan feature of the V8, if I need to pan the rifle, the CAL does just as well without having a swivel joint that you have to keep straightening out.

I like the Cyke Pod for matches because its more adaptable for unconventional positions be it getting wider, lower, higher, or whatever. It does cost more, but I think it's worth it.

For purely recreational prone shooting, I think the Atlas CAL is an outstanding choice and perhaps a better value than the Cyke Pod.

Thanks for the advice. I am obviously new to the long range world and finishing my first build/setup. I am aspiring to shoot competitively even though there is currently very limited opportunities where I live. I also would like to use the set up for occasional hunting trips. I purchased the Atlas V8 to begin with thinking it would be “good enough”. And I am wishing I had gone with a bit more modularity and wider stance or capability for wider stance.

I don’t think the 100 post count applies anymore. I think they did away with that requirement and made it pay to play only. I’d like this confirmed though. I’m close to the 100 post count.

Frank has said that it is pay to play now. Rules that mention the 100 posts are vestiges now. Others that have been here for a lot longer have been grandfathered in.

In other words if the PX allows you to post a thread, you're allowed to post. If not, you have to do Supporter. Bonus is with this being the system now is that while you are a Supporter you get the online training.

@TheRealMongo and other newer people some advice. Read the rules. Follow them. Don't be a dick and you will do fine here.

On the topic of the thread the CAL is very nice. I don't do any competitions and haven't used the cyke but you can't go wrong with the legitimate Atlas bipods.

I like my limited edition no dye cal. Also got the pre order Atlas spike feet. @Kasey does some cool stuff for us here on the Hide. Rrs sc-lr clamp and adapter on mine. They now have the arms-lr clamp.

I like my Atlas Cal, your "no dye" looks good. Wish they made them with FDE from the factory, not that the black one I have looks bad.
