I’m getting ready to get one and just wanted to ask if you guys like the one with or without PAN? I was leaning towards getting it without PAN but it still had CAN

Atlas cal gen 2, thunderbeast, ckye pod triple pull are all good options. Use the search function and you’ll find good info on what fits you best.

Not the one I’ve got, the BT65-LW17. Have never been upset not having the pan feature. On the other hand, the leg locks on the Ckye have interested me since I saw them, as the ones on the Cal are kinda a pain. I’ve gotten better at operating them, so I haven’t been able to justify the Ckye cost, but the Cal leg adjust lock sleeves are not the easiest to manipulate, esp from behind the gun. YMMV.

I agree with Accu-Tac. Sold the Atlas and moved up. Better one hand ergonomics IMO. Way more stable. I got away from pan but that’s a personal preference. My Atlas PRS never would securely lock it out and sometimes it would start panning when I didn’t want it to.
I have BR-4 G2 which I prefer and also an SR-5 G2 which is the same but a little taller, and I rarely need that.

I saw one of these in action this weekend. Really well built and solid. My only criticism is that it will only lock flat in one direction for 180 degree. You can still rotate it to the other side, but it doesn't have the locking notch. Not a big deal really.

When I compare it to my Atlas, I wish I had one. Problem is that they are hard to find.

Interesting. I’ve never tried collapsing it towards me to lock flat. I believe this is what you’re saying. I ordered mine directly through the website. Took about 2 weeks to arrive.

You are correct. The reason for folding flat is to be able to load into a pelican case without it banging into the barrel. I suppose one could just use a piece of foam to prevent that. Not a big deal.

The manufacturer web site has a notice that it can take up to 3 months to ship now. ;)The more I think about it, the more I want one.

Ok. I could see that happening if it had the pan feature. Mine don’t and so they sit tight and can’t touch the barrel. I could see saving space on a shorty, like Desert Tech or something. I guess you could just mount it the other way around. Email Susi Garcia and get a realistic time frame is my recommendation. She responds quickly.

I've got a Ckye Pod and a PSR now, with a CAL that will be here tomorrow.

The Ckye is by far my favorite just because it's easy to adjust, the pan locks up tight enough where it's not an issue and it folds up nice and tight to the barrel.

I've played with the PSR and I'll agree with not liking the pan feature.

The reason being is it moves too much when loading the bipod. If it's not perfectly perpendicular to the rifle, it will want to skew when you load it.

The lock feature isn't bad on the PSR, but it's like I need a wrench to get it tight enough to eliminate the pan to where it isn't an issue..

I haven't had any issues with the Ckye in regards to panning.

I'm looking forward to playing with the CAL next weekend.

They actually make one. Be sure to choose the correct model for each Atlas.
