I've been toying with the idea of doing an AR build, but i still remain true to my favorite roots of the piston operated rifle.

However, when looking at piston driven upper assemblies, i have seen 2 separations. Attached OP rod, and floating spring-returned OP rod.

I was curious on those of you who've had the opportunity to mess around with both - What are your thoughts? What is the advantage of either, over the other?
