That's where one of the recent shootings was - in the food court. I always had fond memories of the Dallas and Houston Galleria - before they just became "common" and a gang-banger roost.

What would stop this shit is if people who DO NOT buy into the SJW bullshit just quit buying, en masse. These places are willing to piss the vast majority of people off to satisfy some attention seeking fools with Marxist ideology; however, if the people refused to buy their shit (if possible) they'd change. They are pandering to people who, from what I've seen, certainly don't have the means to support a freaking mall. However, the vast majority of people don't feel the pain immediately so they have no conviction to stop shopping at a store - they are too busy living life and doing a job to be "bothered" by SJW....but we may sadly learn the cost of acquiescing.

The issue has gotten so bad with people saying no to that shit hole that most all of the services now pickup an deliver their wears just to stay in business. White flight is taking place with many major corps/company's working day & night to pull out of that trash heap. It's not by chance the AGCA show left the BJCC. The Galleria isn’t in Birmingham, it’s in Hoover. I live less than 5 miles from it and have never been.

Birmingham is a shithole, yes, but it has been trying to turn a corner much like Nashville and revitalize itself.

The suburbs on the other hand are a completely different story and are extremely nice.

The suburbs are effected by riff raff coming in. IIRC the last 2 shootings at the Galleria have been by people not from the area. The one at Christmas was by someone from Atlanta and the most recent I want to say was someone from Bessemer. That place is a magnet for trouble and idk why people flock to it.

There’s a gas station just off I-59 Exit 141 Trussville that has a handgun in a green circle on the door actually welcoming guns. Their gas prices are also fair, so I make it a point if I can squeeze more than a couple of gallons, I always stop to support them. I think it’s a C&S Fuels station, or some off-brand.

Those types of establishments should be called-out and recognized. They’re extremely rare.

Anything within 25 miles of 20/59 & I 65 is considered to be BHM to me,...I want nothing to do with any of it. I don't even go to the AGCA shows anymore as the B/S on 459 is not worth it to me. Glad the BHM Hamfest was moved to Trussville, as now I don't have to put a tire on 459 at all.

LOL. I won't even go to UAB...I drive north now and if something's really bad I may drive east for a second opinion. I've had it with the UAB trained doctors here.

Only part of UAB I still deal with is Kirkland, for checkup's that are every 2 years now. If you think UAB is bad try anything medical in NE or SE bama,...those areas are still stone-age compared. If I had not went to UAB/Kirkland in 08 I'd have been dead by late 09. The best local med of any kind around here is the vet,...

There is no way I'd EVER visit that place without a concealed weapon on me. Let roaches roam free and I will come strapped like the Orkin Man.

I remember as a young feller getting to go to the Galleria and it being a big deal that we all looked forward to (I'm from a small town). I took my wife and two kids about 18 months ago and swore I'd never go back. Sure, it was scuzzy, but malls just aren't worth the hassle anymore.

The last time I was at UAB was to run the Mercedes Half Marathon in 2016. Now I blow past/through that joint on I-65 on the way to see family in Madison.
