AX7.62 Lowers! Group buy

Allright gents, here's what's up. I am in the process of setting up a group buy with AXTS for their 7.62 lowers. As many know, these have not been released yet. I cant say a bunch about why, but i can tell you that with "enough" interest a bunch of us on the Hide could be the good ole boys getting the first batch. To be clear, I am not taking actual orders at this point. I'd merely like to show legitimate numbers as it relates to the interest of those who would like to purchase an AX762. I'm shooting for 200 "I'm INs". This is a SnipersHide ONLY thing. Simply post a reply to this thread indicating that you'd be gtg and for how many lowers. I do not have specifics on price as of yet. I would assume that - similar to the majority of large platform parts compared to AR15 parts - we'd be looking at a little jump over the AX556 price point of $429.99. The more we have the better things get. Post away!

I'll chime in here to answer any questions if needed. I own two axts ax556 lowers and my shooting buddy/teammate owns the only prototype ax762 lower in existence. He's built a 22" 6.5 creed upper to complete the build. The build quality on these lowers is amazing!

I know this is 7.62 but have you seen the new spikes tactical gen 2 billet lower and gen2 billet sar3 uppers? Pretty cool... I like the ambi features better than the axts... Looks better too IMHO. Obviously they don't make a 7.62 version...I just ordered a set and handguard for a 223 Wylde build. Here is a pic heavy thread..

This will be a DPMS receiver cut or an SR25 cut. Mega is only SR25. Secondly, AXTS is a full ambi receiver. Mega simply has a right side bolt release. Outside of the ambi mag release that is proprietary to this specific unit (and included in the price of the lower) there is ADAC.

With ADAC lowers you're able to engage the bolt catch by depressing the magazine release button and pulling the charge handle back. Its the same concept Gen 4 POFs incorporate, but again, its inside the trigger guard just like a BAD lever. AXTS integrates that functionality into their magazine release through machining a 45 degree slot under the bolt catch down through to the mag release and uses a stainless steel plunger and proprietary mag button to make that work. There isnt another lower that can do what these can functionally. The only other full ambi 308 lower out there is the KAC. Im not aware of a single DPMS-cut ambi lower. Closest you get is the Rainier.

The right side bolt release also works differently. It does not use the same mecanism to function as your Mega, Seekins, POF, and other receivers that incorporate a right side bolt release. The AXTS is incredibly smooth and more reliable in my experience that the above based on the stabilizing bar and additional spring running through the receiver from underneath the bolt release closer to the rear of lower. The only other right side release that works as well is, again, the KAC. Here are some sketches to illustrate...

I hear you there. The new spikes is pretty done up. I was initially thinking about one of those for the next build, but couldnt get past having to use KNS pins (just because i dont like the way they make Geissele triggers feel) and im not a huge fan of the placement of the left side mag release. Id rather use a San Tan, AXTS, or KAC than the new Spikes. That said, ill prolly go AXTS just for the unique advantages it offers with respect to operating controls. Ive actually decided to go more of the "super clean lines" route after grabbing some of the more gaudy designs (San Tan).

In regards to the AX556 and matching uppers, im assuming youre referring to aestetically matching with the bolt catch, receiver lines, etc. as they fit amy upper receiver with zero issues outside of some of the side charging billet uppers. Aestetically, there are 7 uppers i cam think of that match up beautifully. Depending on preference those include Black Rain, San Tan, Sun Devil, DRD, Heads Down Products, etc. Shouldnt be any issues with matching uppers - especially when the focus is on functionality - in which all are gtg with the exception of old LAR OPS-4, JP CTRs, and 2 Vets Arms. Even those can be modified to work rather easily.

I mean uppers made by axts specially for the axts....i texted them about it and they gave me that same list and even pics but none of them look perfect.....i would want one that works/matches better esthetically...but that's my opinion. I'm not a huge fan of Geissele triggers...have 2 but the Wilson combat TTU in their 2 stage match and single stage are my preference of which I have 3 of each. I do really like the Geissele s3g in my 22LR AR'S, makes them alot of fun....The kns pins shouldn't really cause an issue in any Geissele trigger but the dmr from what I've read directly from Geissele but if they do cause them to feel different I'd have to take your word. ..even gap puts them on their triggers so I can't see it being a significant issue... I've never used the kns pins so I can only go on what I've read and seen and it's a non issue for the triggers i prefer anyway.

Yea i follow. I dont really see where you are getting the aesthetics issues from, there are a bunch of receivers that line up perfectly to the cuts of the axts. Does AXTS make an upper? No. Nor does it matter, any upper will work and function like they would on anything else, just with a lot more meaningful benefits one could see tangible, measureable value from on an AXTS as opposed to a "prettier" lower - including the Spikes. If you just stare at your rifle though, the Spikes might be for you.

KNS pins are specifically addressed by Geissele and lead to why Bill only recommends his pins in his triggers. Thats a well documented topic. Can they be used? Sure. However, after using such with and without KNS pins i clearly feel the difference in pull, break, overtravel and reset. If you ever use one with KNS pins, you'll see what im talking about.

Anyhoo, back to 308 and grabbing an AXTS lower in such form...

I hope so too. If we get enough we should be near that. People should factor in that the cost would include a bolt catch, ambi mag release and mag catch, right side bolt release, and all plungers and springs associated with such. Its not just a stripped lower. So far i have 34 "ins". Apprently the std run of lowers for AXTS is right around 50. So, if we get enough buy in (75-ish) the price should look good and youll have what very few people out there will have access to. Thanks itieknots!

Hey guys, I spoke with Josh, the owner of AXTS, today and he told me that he wasn't aware of this group buy. AXTS sponsors a 3-gun team that I'm a member of and I know Josh pretty well. The ax762 isn't quite ready to bring to market and he doesn't have an estimated release date yet. As of now there is no group buy. AXTS is a very busy and rapidly growing company, keep your eye out for some sweet new products in the future including the ax762. Again, I want to be clear that nobody from axts ever said they would sponsor or entertain a group buy.

I assure you I don't just stare at my rifles, but you certainly are full of yourself among other things... Especially starting a group buy for something unavailable and with no expectations for its availability.... Fact is an upper designed to be used with a specific lower will most likely fit better as well as look better period. It's my money and if I'm going to spend $450 on a lower I want an upper available that matches aesthetically and designed to be used with the lower. I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in that, nor does it mean that we just stare at our rifles for feeling that way... Even those that have bought the lower I'm sure wish an AXTS upper was available and would have bought the upper if it had been.... I'm sure everyone that prefers matching uppers/lowers just stare at there rifles... I'm also very well aware about how Geissele feels about KNS pins and what I said previously is true... Hey dumbass, fanfuckingtastic job reading the title of the post, now read post #1. I clearly articulated that im not taking orders, that they havent been released yet, and itd take a bunch of interest to get a run going (i.e. 200 just to spell shit out for you). As stated, im simply driving interest, as Josh doesnt think there is enough demand to put a run of 7.62s through the machines and thinks there are other products that they'll sell more of. I spoke to Mike on Friday of last week (the same day i made this post) who is taking this topic to Josh. He specifically asked i forward him interest from this thread regarding AX762 interest. I was told that showing such interest could likely change the priorities on the machines. That is the point. Considering i havent forwarded him any tangible proof of such evidence as of yet, he obviously hasn't taken the proposition forward - as that was the plan. Way to be fucking cool though douche bag. Thanks for the extra bullshit I now have to work through tomorrow. Stay classy...

Your entire premise is irrelevant anyway. This is pertaining to a 308 lower. Like i mentioned, AXTS lowers work with any upper. If your retarded enough to worry about whether the same company name is engraved in both the upper and lower i cant help you out. You just need to to educate yourself. Starting a group buy to kick off something that hasnt been released yet after speaking to the MFGer in question about the specific details is exactly what this is, and if it works out, would be pretty valuable to all parties involved. Clearly you dont have any interest. I think the Rainier arms upper would most likely look the best with this lower (for those of you worrying about looks).


Maybe I'm weird, but I'm buying this upper to add versatility to my LMT LM8. The one thing I miss about selling my ECC is the bolt release while prone shooting. I could care less about how itlooks, only that the fit is good enough not to degrade accuracy.
