The labeling is done with a Lectroetch steel etching machine. It etches the steel with electrolysis.
Took several tries to get it adjusted right, but we have it now.
It comes out very clean and isn't hard to do.


The DBM inlet for the 6.5creed is done.

Done on a Manual mill. and a little sand paper.

The Palma tightbore, and 7RemMag will be coated and done in about one week. I need to get two other rifles finished first that I was doing a couple "quick" things to.

Some things are taking longer than I thought they would.



btw, pics so far have been with my phone. I'm going to get some better pics up with good lighting and a real camera.

There will be a Rifle in an A1, A4, A5, few HS's, and an AICS. So there will be some good variety, and some sweet rifles.

I move and begin setting up the shop in July. Hopefully by August we will be doing work.
We will take things slow at first, not wanting to get too backed up.
The amount of work we take in, and the range of services may be limited at first. Buying all our equipment and setting everything up will take time. We have a big move to accomplish.

Here is the M40A1 group. 7 shots in about .8" at 100 yards. Shot with Black Hills factory match 168s

Here's the group shot by the 28" Palma tightbore. Its a 10 shot group. 7 of the 10 are in a 1/2MOA cluster. The other 3 open it up to just over minute. This group was fired with Hornady 155gr Factory ammo.

The Palma was just bolted into its AICS. Not yet bedded.
Both rifles are half minute rifles in the hands of a better shooter. I wasnt shooting great during testing.

I'm going to be taking good pics here within a week. I'm lazy about taking pics, I know.
I can not believe how busy I've been doing these rifles and keeping up on bolt knob installs. Takes way more time than I thought.

I just finished truing, barreling, and re-aligning the scope base holes to bore and opening them up to 8-40 on a mans rifle whom I shoot with. I was able to true, barrel from a blank, and do the scope base mod in 2 days.
Its Cerakote, fit/function testing, trigger/bolt stop/saftey installation, and break-in/group testing that is taking so long. Most of the machining side of building rifles seems to be not too difficult. Its EVERYTHING else that is holding me up

Next weekend I should have pics up of:

The Palma coated and finished
The 7mag again(completed with better pics)
Cerakote job on an AZ customers 308win. LH with fluted barrel
Mikes 6.5Creed comp rifle before coating


My 243 comp rifle will be started in about one week
Dave and Dougs 308 will be started in about 12 days.


At the end of this semester I will post pics of all the rifles before any are sold or shipped out. I will have made about 8 rifles, and Cerakoted/worked on 2 others.

First rifle is a factory rifle with a make over.

Second rifle is a complete build. It's Mike Moores 6.5Creed comp rifle. Looks a little like an M40A3. Still needs Cerakote and bedding. That will be done this weekend.

Third rifle is also a complete build. Its Dans rifle. .308 win #7 barrel at 18". AICS 1.5. Its a solid rifle. Surface ground and used the factory lug per owners request.

Cerakoted the Palma yesterday, sniper gray. I'm Cerakoting the "M40A3"6.5Creed tomorrow. And I'll be starting two more rifles first thing next week. My rifle and Dave's rifle. Should have those done by April 10th or so as long as I get my reamer and lugs in time.


I'll be taking pictures with all the rifles at once when I have enough of them done. I'll make a backdrop and use a real camera. So far pics have been on on iphone.


I should have completed pics of the "M40A1", "M40A3", my comp rifle, The Palma"F-class", and the 7mag within two weeks from today. Good chance I'll have another one done by then too.

Hey guys I just want to say that Kieth does amazing work. This is nothing you folks didn't already know, but I thought I should share.

I sent my rifle to him like this:

And I got it back like this:

He mounted the recoil pad, replaced my bolt knob, lengthened my magazine port and modified the magazine to accommodate longer rounds, crowned the muzzle, bedded the stock, pillared the cheek rest, and cerakoted the entire rifle. I really do like all the work he did to my rifle and can highly recommend him to any one who needs work done to their rifle. My only complaint is It looks so nice I don't want to hunt with it, I'm content to just stare at it now.

Here are some more pics....

The "M40A3" style 6.5 Creed. Now its time to Cerakote all the metal and Bed it.

This is a 260 my father built. Its probably getting a different bolt knob, which still needs to be coated.

And the 28" Palma tightbore. I sure wish AI made different skins that looked better. Their stocks are overpriced in my opinion. I can see corners that they cut to save on cost. Mcmillan or Manners is a way better choice, even with the cost of aftermarket bottom metal.
Still, the AI has its positives for sure.

The 6.5 Creed is Cerakoted and looks amazing.
My 243 comp rifle is done and coated as well. Should be bedding it in a day or two.

I'll have pics up of both in about 5 days.



Pretty soon Ill have tons of pics up of all the rifles finished, some side by side. I will try to take some pictures while Im in the shop cutting steel. Pics of tenon threads, thread protectors(I'm doing two), a flash hider install, my set up for aligning scope base holes, ... stuff like that. I know people like pics I'm just not good about remembering or wanting to while I'm working.


3 rifles will be sold in about 1 month. The M40A1, the F-class Palma barrel 308, and the 7mag. Prices aren't set in stone, but will be something like:

M40A1=$2400

F-class 308=$2000 Or $1500 for barreled action/trigger(everything but the AICS). I will bed it in your stock of choice too, Free.

7mag=$1700

They will be sold with proof targets. Shipped to your local FFL.
I'll post them in the rifles for sale section when the time comes.

Heres a pic of a stock with an aluminum V block. Notice the two lines where the action makes contact with it. The V blocks are never perfect, and Remington actions are no where near perfect. This is just one reason why I think they should be bedded.

Heres a bed job on an AICS. I bed the two pads, and the lug.

Here's a before and after of a Remy action trued.

Here's my rifle and Mikes 6.5Creed side by side showing the ejection ports. Mine is opened up on both sides. His just the front. I need to do a little touch up on the stock there where I lengthened the port. They came out pretty good though.

Shown with different bolt.
The rifles new bolt was left stock, but trued. No bolt knob, and factory extractor. I tried a Sako in it and it flipped every case into my scope turret. The factory extractor spits it out at 3 O-clock. Plus its more classic, like the M40A1

I'll be Cerakoting the bolt still.

Indicating an action in before opening base holes to 8-40.
This mandrel has been turned between centers with zero taper. It squares up to the actions lug abutments, after truing those to raceway. The receiver face is also trued to the raceway. So the raceway, lug abutments, receiver face, and scope base holes are in line.

A special ground end mill is used to open the holes up. A drill would just follow the holes and not help realign them.
You cant see it but the action is sitting on a surface ground block that uses the actions bottom mag rails to level off of.

The entire mill vise is rotated to indicate in. The outside of the receivers are way off and mean nothing.

The M40A1 is for sale. I was thinking $2400. Same rifle, ready to go, from most other places would be well over $3000. I will be posting it in the for sale section very soon.

We wont be taking on gunsmithing work until late this year. Right now I'm working out of my school(gunsmithing school). We just got approved by the city we're moving back to for the business. Now to have things inspected and get our FFL.

Of the rifles I've built, 3 are being sold as used rifles. Used even though they have 20 rounds through them each. That will be the extent of my selling or building rifles until our shop is set up and of course legal.

Just had Keith biuld me a 6.5 Creed! Rifle shoots hands down with every load I put through it. Ill have pictures and the range report posted soon. I shot the 108 Lapua, 120 Nosler, 130 Berger VLD hunting, 140 A-Max and 140 Sierra game king all with H4350. every load shot sub minute and overall it seemed the rifle shot where you were holding. Deal with confidence!
