So I was cycling some rounds and every 4th and 5th round the casing would stay in the barrel breach. Never had an issue before. I noticed the two paws that grab the casing one the spring is really tight while the other paw is easier to move - much lighter spring. Is this normal for those who have the B14. Wondering if I need a new spring. Thanks.

After researching more I realized this can happen with an unfired round. The lack of blowback and tighter match chamber will not always eject the round. Apparently the paws cant grab the casing rim enough. I typically don’t cycle live rounds but I just installed a mag extension for two additional rounds and wanted to make sure it functioned fine. Well that’s when I noticed the 4th or 5th round not ejecting. So I tried with an original 10 rd mag and the same thing happened. I’m guessing it’s because of what I explained above. I guess I won’t know until I actually fire the rounds and go thru a mag.

The b14r has a 3mm jam on lands, or about 120thou. This causes extraction of live rounds to be an issue.

It is possible to fix. The extractor claw, on ejection side (the primary extraction claw, not the secondary) can be lightly reshaped to help.

You need to lightly lay the front of the claw back a touch. When there is a live round in the chamber and the bolt is closed, you will notice that the primary exttraction claw is pushed out slightly. This is caused by the cut out on the barrel. Laying the front of the claw back ever so slightly, helps promote more tension on the rim of the case.

If you do not experience it on fired cases, dont worry. I rechambered my b14r and fixed multiple issues. This was one. I can easily extract live rounds now.
