Short answer there is no review. Bacon has too much weird stuff in it such as salt that might corrode the metal so did not bother testing it.

But I thought I would go ahead and post some good pictures of Butcher Grade Bacon in a cast iron skillet, really the only way to cook meat!

Yes that is a lot of bacon grease that's because the key to making good bacon is empty the pan of bacon grease every batch.

I just thought I would point that out, since there are a lot of cool kids and operators in this forum, and they have no time to cook bacon.. they are too busy training shooting offhand through tiny dry wall ports.

While they train, I will cook bacon for them, because I am their friend

thanks for the info. nothing corrosive in lard?

Re: Bacon Grease as Gun Lube

Lard itself is just a simple lipid and unless you oxidize it somehow, it's perfectly safe. Corrosion comes from elements that have either an acidic property or an electrochemical neither of which ~apply to lard. That being said, you could use bacon grease but you'd need to filter the hell out of it and even then it would still burn dirty. Bacon grease would only be a good last resort, the highly processed store bought variant would be far better and motor oil would be better yet.

I agree High Binder, but think of the sizzling bacon smell one could enjoy after a 30 rd mag dump from the AR-15. The smoke off that hot BCG would remind ya of a tasty bacon sammich. Sounds winning to me!

Oh man, those cool kids have every THING, and everything planned out!

Re: Bacon Grease as Gun Lube

No no no...You got it all wrong. The grease isnt for lubing the gun...

What you want to do is lightly coat your bullets(or entire round but not necessary) in bacon grease so that when you distribute said bullets to your buddys(in order to expedite their journey) who are en route to meet "their virgins" they will...uh...

Wait a minute...wont bacon grease eternally damn them to hell and make sure that they never make it to heaven?

Oh well...

Fire them skillets up and happy cooking gents!
