So I wanted to make this post to voice some recent concerns regarding Radian’s ceracoat quality.
For reference I have been using their lowers and builder kits since 2010, and have 12 rifles built on their receiver sets at this point and time. I love their lowers and the general fit and feel works for me.
However. My latest build I am finding the coating to be flaking. These blemishes happened the first day the rifle was being transported to the range for tuning/base zeroing/accuracy confirmation. The large patch removed on the hand guard is definitely flaking, but there is no damage to the receiver or hand guard itself indicating possibly banging it.
Has anyone else had this happen? This is an honest first for me with them. Whilst I do use my rifles hard, this one has not been put through anything that would even scratch it. Almost all edges on the lower are lightly exposed as well (just transporting in rifle bag for 3 shooting trips.
I’m not bothered as our ARs get fairly beat up in the end it’s just a little concerning to see such damage to the coating with little to no use.
