Bad out of the box

Ok I have looked over many of the post you recommended and they are mostly all negative, I was probably robbed is there some way to figure it out myself or do I need a expert witch I'm NOT I know they did not use some of the parts I specified I think Badger puts ther name on there products, anyway this sucks, I feel like the drunk slut at the party not only was I probably taken advantage by my boyfriend (TR) it now appears I will be everyone else's entertainment ......

Then you don't know much about trucking I admit what I don't know.

You're right, I don't know much about trucking. I only have four close family friends that are professional drivers, two of which did a 6 day team run together for about a decade, and know another owner/operator on the east coast that runs to the west coast and back and doesn't take him over a month.

Obviously that's not the end-all, be-all of every variation of driving.

If you are gone that long, especially over two major holidays, I hope you are VERY well compensated.

Thanx JustMy02
I just wanted to ask some questions I figured people hear might have ansers to, not to be there entertainment.

John,

I do hope you are who you say you are so I'm going on faith here... I'll give you some background that will help cut through the noise. In short, there are numerous people, like myself, that have had terrible experiences with TR. My thread says it all. Almost all of these people have detailed accounts to include pictures, emails, videos, repair bills, etc. I have only showed a fraction of what I have. Then, as soon as this gets posted, someone who is typically a first time poster will show up and give either a glowing review of TR or somehow stir the pot. What has never happened is that the first time poster actually produces a rifle.

The above has repeated itself many times over. The topic has many people quite jaded. And the reflection of that is what you see in the thread. Being in East Liverpool, OH you are not too far from Short Action Customs, especially for a trucker. If you were really curious about your build quality you might have them inspect it. And we are all curious to see your range report and the details of your experience with TR. Until then the great TR build is just a unicorn.

Sincerely,
MTT

John, if you'll look at the other threads, the guys who got taken advantage of by TR weren't the source of anyone's entertainment. Every one of us who spends tons of money on equipment is deeply sorry and sympathetic that "one of our own" got ripped off by a con artist posing as a reputable rifle builder. No one is here to kick you while you're down if you're another victim of TR.
Where all the derision and assholery comes from on our part has been with the "shill" posters who have come on the forum at Rooney's behest to try to do damage control, while Rooney himself has refused to answer for himself (and has threatened legal action against all manner of people for calling him on his bullshit).

I can assure you that if you're a legit rifle owner who got fucked then we're here for you and will help spread the word to keep it from happening to someone else. If you're a "shill" then yeah, you're gonna get torn up pretty bad.

In all sincerity, I think we'd all be very interested to see some pics of the rifle/groups, build sheet, whatever you have. There are some VERY bright guys on the forum that can help you do some self-inspection on some critical areas to see if you got fucked, and if you don't have a quality smith local to you, Marc at Spartan Rifles (Hide Member) is fast becoming an expert on UN-fucking TR's mistakes.

**EDIT**Sorry for the redundancy, it appears Moses and I were typing basically the same thing at the same time.**

John,

Do not feel too bad. It is difficult to make a perfect purchase decision with imperfect information. Your rifle may be okay and you might not have any of the problems we have witnessed firsthand in the past. But we are here to help and give advice also. We seem to have had shill posters in the past that are trying to change people's viewpoints here. That is why you see so many people commenting on how "entertaining" this is. If you are genuine, then you are not the entertainment.

We look forward to your posting of photos, especially close up detailed photos and targets. There are a lot of people on here that are experts and even some that own companies that manufacture barrels, receivers, actions, etc. They can help also. For example, in one of the "negative" threads, a forum poster was given information on where to get his TR rifle fixed. Now his rifle shoots better.

My dad is a long haul driver and is usually on the road for 7-8 WEEKS at a time so I am inclined to believe the OP that he wont be home for a few weeks. That being said, I wanna see some pics of the rifle and groupings before February or I'll be forced to believe that the OP is just another employee of TR.net desperately trying to save face.

Exactly! Coupled with bogeybrown's follow-on post, a search on the Hide would detail the issues in spades.

That same search function will also produce multitudes of posts from satisfied customers from the gunsmiths that participate here on the Hide.

A quick overview now more when I get home, I started with TR (David) like 4 years ago we discussed components time frame the hole nine yards. After agreeing to half down I think $2150 witch I sent them, it started feeling off first 3 months turned into 6 then a year David said quality takes time. Lol. Next I never got a build sheet, asked for it several times still don't have it. Ow and something that really bothered me They said a 1:10 twist was just fine for a 6.5x47 Lapua, my research said more lie 1:8 and on it goes, I will post and send some in tight photos when I get home maybe you can advise me how to get unfucked or maybe it's not that bad. As for my reluctance to jump in all the way this is an open forum and I didn't to trash someone I didn't know deserved it ,had I read your post first I would have seen that they did and saved my self a lot of aggravation.

Thanks for the advice John

This shit is getting good! On a more serious note, if the OP got screwed I truly feel for you :(. No one deserves to get fucked out of there hard earned money for any reason! For all those that got taken I'd be putting in complaints everywhere I could!

Has anyone else realized every OP defending this shop types and talks the exact same??

And almost every thread has at least 3 sentences with ..... In the middle of the sentences?

This is comical and John or what ever your name is that is making these BS threads your just making your self the laughing stock on several forums I frequent where we are all tracking your posts threads and shorty a** work. So keep it up brotha your just digging your own grave. Your not feeling anyone

Rothenberg,

It seems are all of your doubts are now suddenly lifted. Good for you. Since you were relying on the opinions posted I can only wonder how you have gone from a state of curiosity to cocksure certainty. Which makes perfect sense given what you see.

When you and your rifle are ready for exhibition, a month hence, please let us know.

If, by some chance, you actually are a hapless TR customer please do not make any sort of wager. If you have read the threads provided to you you will already understand who I am and where I'm coming from. Just come forward with the rifle as has been asked above.

Do you drive a truck for Tactical Rifles?

Here are the 6 pictures he sent me:

Thanks John and Belly. Other than what appears to be a backwards bipod nothing really jumps out.

Once John has had a chance to relax with his wife and some cold beer, some pics of the action screws, stock inletting, bedding, bottom metal fit, etc would probably be helpful to all here to see if he got "Rooney'ed" or if TR put out a good product on this one.

I'm sure someone much smarter than me will have spotted something in these pics that I've missed though :)

Is that a notched leg bipod? How much did he pay for that including scope.

I have no dog in this fight. I just posted the pics, brother.

Totally understood my friend. I was just thanking John for sending the pics, and you for posting them. I'm really hoping John got a good rifle from TR and once he gets home maybe some more pics of the aforementioned areas could help us help HIM to figure it out.

Nice looking rifle on the outside. Most of the knocks on TR have been on the unseen such as bedding, crown, inletting, and chambering. Other than aesthetics or if you're a jockey, why run a big 3 port brake on a 6.5? How's it shoot?

I don't have what little paperwork I have in to hand and it's been like three years ago but I'm thinking my NSX 5.5x22x56 was right at $1600. On the barrel length 26" and the brake a Holland they where when larger calebers where under discussion and NOT supposed to be be part of the 6.5 project, with the brake I can't even shoot it at my local range. The bottom metal sucks it's TRs aluminum, sharp edges, lots of mating and no inleting at all.

A few months back I saw a YouTube video claiming Tactical Rifle out of fl. Was simply the worst made rifle on the market. As I have one of there products I found this rather disturbing. My rifle appears to have all the right parts in all the right places and performs great when I do my part. Is this just BS. or might there be some truth to it.

Ok let me clarify a few things ..... No I'm NOT unhappy with my rifle I'm unhappy with some of the publicity I have seen....No I have not posted any of this before my rifle is in 6.5x47 Lapua.....Yes I have updated my info my bad for not doing that first.....Yes I did much research before investing in this rifle ...on the net...in magazines....world of mouth.......Yes I spoke to David Rooney numerous times prier to, during and after the build over aproxemetley 1 year.....No I'm NOT trying to stealth attack Tactical Rifles or anyone else in fact I have recommended them to others. *

Look I just wanted to get some information and ease my mind after a disturbing video I saw, If I asked in the rong order in an inappropriate way or after not enough posts then I'm sorry I apologize fuck me for living....Ow and no I can't spell worth Shit.

Just do a little research google https://www.google.com/search?q=tac...4&sourceid=chrome&espv=210&es_sm=122&ie=UTF-8

and you will see why everyone is complaining about this company. We just don't want anyone to get screwed.

I figured it was some time before October 2012. David doesn't build rifles and has had a revolving door of gunsmiths working for him. A little bit of that can be seen if you read and look through all these threads. Unfortunately not all of them are still available. You can see trends in both parts and the various markings. In this case an easy one to spot is the barrel stamp. Here is mine and what the current batch of rifles looks like:

BarrelStamp_zps109fa203.jpg

I am not sure it would be possible for me to recreate such a stamp without being well on the other side of sobriety and equipped with only a broken chisel and some rocks. Based on the time frame, your barrel stamp (which certainly took more care and effort than mine), and what I have seen of a dozen or so of TR rifles, it is likely your rifle was built by the best smith to have had temporary residence in the shop.

This is like piecing together a long running crime scene as bodies surface from the bottom of the swamp.

I don't think he's a troll, fellas. John, could you get pics of the bottom metal posted? PM me if you need help.

Living in East Liverpool. You're not too far from TVP. I would see if you could get Tom to set aside a little time to give your rifle tear down and inspect it.

And for the price you paid I expected at least a custom action not a trued remmy.

Some of the testimonials on their website are down right laughable.

"How are you doing? I am in the "stan" again and got 11 kills so far, this rifle is a killer. I love it, I just wanted to drop you an email and send you the news. As the weather heats up, so does the activity and this is where things usually get hairy with all kinds of ragheads doing dumb shit. The altitude is something that needs some taking used to again, but its good. When i gt back, I am looking into possibly getting some work doe to my M1A National Match. I am wondering how much a synthetic stock would be and have it glass bedded and basically built to super match specifications? Other than that, I will get back with you and I have some pictures that are great. Take care and thank you." EG Tuesday 30 November, 1999

Yeah everyone knows you can bring non-issued rifles over into a combat zone....uh huh....especially prior to there ever being a combat zone.
