Some buddy's and I were at my range today practicing, when I spotted a coyote crossing a field next to us. He was quartering away walking. I guessed him at 600yds, fired, a little low and right, second shot was just low, third was there. DRT. Range back to shooting area was 619yrds. Gun and load was a 6mm RAT with 107s sie.

Re: Bad timing Coyote

No, I was the only one that shot, they couldn't spot him. He must have been bedded down in the corner of two tree lines, and then scared him when we shot a few rounds.

Re: Bad timing Coyote

I've shot a coyote with a bow at 30 yards standing in the middle of a field with no cover. I've shot one at 100 yards standing next to a truck in open pasture talking to two buddies. Both of those just walked by.

I've also spent all day out in the field in full camouflage calling with out seeing a damn thing.

Who knows when they can show up like that. Congratulations man. Glad you smoked him.

Re: Bad timing Coyote

Thanks ColoWyo, He was not very smart. I have deer come out all the time in that lane where all of the targets are, and hit the steel target close to them and they never seem to care.
