Is it possible to have Manners make a stock that would fit the Badger bottom metal on an FN SPR action? I just bought an FN SPR action on Gunbroker and wanted to put it in an Manners T4 stock with Badger bottom metal. Will this combo work if the stock is inlet correctly?

No, the Badger is for a Remington 700 pattern rifle.

However, you can get a bottom metal from CDI precision that will use the saime AICS magazines.

CDI Precision makes great bottom metal for the SPR. I think Seekins does too.

Re: Badger 10rd bottom metal on an FN SPR action

I had CDI Precision install his bottom metal on my SPR. The action has to have a slight amount of metal removed for the bm to fit. He is fast on the turn around. Rounds feed slick as can be. Much better than original bottom metal. He is a nice guy- give him a call or pm him if you have any questions. You can also load rounds longer out of the AI mags, that his bm takes. I am sure Seekins makes great bm but with CDI you use AI mags which interchange with a bunch of other bottom metal set ups. I believe Seekins uses there own mags and are more expensive- not sure about this- going from memory.

I shot my FN SPR action'd .308, sporting Jeff's bottom metal today. It's a tack driver, and the bottom metal is flawless. Jeff makes great gear.

If Seekins is making an FN compatible BM it is a WELL kept secret.

I run 3 CDIs in 308, 7wsm and a soon to arrive .243. All work perfectly.

Manners is inletting a t3 using CDI BM for my .243 as we speak.

Re: Badger 10rd bottom metal on an FN SPR action

The CDI bottom metal for the FN action uses the factory DBM inlet on the stock. When you order or look for a stock, find one with the factory DBM inlet. Then you won't have to have it re-inlet for the CDI unit. As others have stated, the action needs to be machined slightly (this will void your FN warranty, if that's a concern).

No offense but that is BAD advice. You are MUCH better off with an FN inletted for a hinged floorplate, NOT the DBM. While it will require a little inletting, you are not stuck with the stupid half-assed front action screw hole that makes pillar bedding a chore.

If you do not know what I am talking about, then you need to compare both inlets side-by-side and the advantage of the HFP inlet will be readily apparent.

Agree CDI makes a fine bottom metal exclusively including the Accuracy International magazines with his complete product line. I understand Jeff did utilize the imitation magazines early in the year and has as well used them for the WSM customers. He as well as many other "bottom metal", "tube gun/chassis" and "custom rifle" manufactures has joined the Accuracy International OEM team this year and we are looking forward to adding more in the very near future. Happy Holidays.
